Didn't he used to be one of the Elite ref's then relegated for probably giving a foul to a team playing against the Sky 4.

Sterling kicked when through. But as danny mills said

"If that was at a more crucial stage of the match, it would have been given"

Danny Murphy, not Mills. And he said that it should have been given and that Sterling probably would have been more upset if it were in a more crucial stage of the game.

Apologies, I knew it was murphy obviously.

So...

Great performance by the team. Horrible, horrible performance by the ref and that's what this thread is for.

If it wasn't highlighted when we win, then it wouldn't be fair to highlight it when we lose.

It's important no matter what the outcome.

I think nacho was off?

Thought it came of the defenders toe before reaching him.
If not he was definitely off.

I thought that after the shit decisions, the ref did alright. He'd obviously been given the brief to not allow us anything that could be classed as contentious (hanging on with nails) but realised he couldn't please his masters forever as it would compromise his so called 'Integrity'.

Reminded me of the Wolves game where the ref tried but realised it wasn't going to work, we were just that good. Oh, and Carlos needed to square his swing, he was a bit loose.

It doesn't matter if it came off the defender if he was offside when the pass was made. It's still offside.
For me it was borderline, but the general rule is to give the attacking player the benefit of the doubt.

I'm amazed Sane isn't all over ssn for the pointing out the 3 penalties to the ref.

Honestly very surprised.

Not surprised about the penalty decisions though. How could you be at this stage?

Same again on sunday. Watch this space

That would only serve to highlight the fact that we were denied, again, not in their interests.

I was surprised Leroy wasn't carded for it though.

Norwich game mate, Foy was indeed bent as fuck that game, his change of style when we were in control should have sen him sacked.

Is this an example of the revolutionary "on the edge of offside" rule in action ??
