It looks like it hits the back of his upper arm after coming off his hip, I didn't spot it hitting his hip at all on the replays from the other angle.

So how would VAR deal with that? Completely unintentional.

According to MOTD last night the Var people said they would've disallowed the goal

So, does that mean any goal that comes off the hand/arm will be disallowed regardless of intent?

I think if it stops a goal from going in ,regardless of intent, its a penalty and if it affects a goal going in , should be disallowed.

Yesterday that ball was going in regardless of it hitting his arm.

I do not know why they make a big deal of this when its so fucking easy (With VAR on rare occasions ) to call.

From that angle there is obviously no DELIBERATE handball. At the very most, the ball brushed the back of his upper arm after coming off his hip which would have actually slowed the ball down on it's way into the net, not knocked it in. If that would be chalked off by VAR then VAR is a waste of space (or the latest agenda-driven tool)......

Sounds about right to me, it'll be interesting to see how it's applied.

So if an arm is in an un-natural position how do they explain Mustafi pulling back Sergio 1st half.

Thanks 4 that Blue moon. To be honest from where I was sitting in the CB stand I thought it was clearly hand ball . But the film shows that It obviously comes off his left hip and catches his arm accidentally. Moreover it was going into the net off his hip anyway.
Who'd have thought it was such an amazing piece of refereeing!
PS My grandson spotted that at the time. Cocky bugger!

I was under the impression VAR is used to correct clear and obvious errors.

I've watched that video about 500 times and I still don't see where it hits his arm. The ball doesn't change direction at all.

It hits the back of his arm just above the elbow there is the slightest change of direction, think it's fair to say it was going in anyway. Without the touch of his arm it may have been closer to Leno so in theory he may have saved it but that's clutching at straws.

It's blindingly obvious it wasn't deliberate. If it wasn't City no-one would have ever mentioned it

It's not even funny anymore, they can't be bothered flagging when their 2 yards offside, how the fuck do they expect anybody to compete?

Or is that the idea.

Absolutely nobody can explain that, the lino even checked himself to keep a perfect view of the line. I did say it would be hard to disguise it but the thought of the Dippers getting a last second winner was just too much for the PL to give away. They know nobody would care as it's one of their major commercial teams with every propoganda story coming to eradicate the thought that they got an undeserved win.
