Kompany’s lucky escape?
DERMOT'S VERDICT: Red card

DERMOT SAYS: If it's not a foul, Vardy takes one more step and it's a clear shot on goal.

The difficulty for the referee is that he's square on. When he sees the foul, the time he looks up John Stones has come across and the whole picture has changed. He can't snap photograph it in his mind - you see it forensically it's a red card, but from the referee's angle he's deceived because of the ball going away and Stones coming in on the cover. I think the easy decision would have been to send him off - the decision he took was the harder one as it was more logical to him and the more justifiable one in his mind.'

Pigmol will now be very happy with that bit of doublethink.

So he was wrong but in his own mind he was right.
That covers just about everything. Everyone of us on here are the same.

Not if you're like me, you aren't.

In my case, I'm not often right and I'm always wrong; at least that was how the ex wife viewed it.

Yes dear.

Sounds good to me. Thought he ref'd our last game very well and the outcome, well, Stoke didn't have too many complaints.

No cards for us either, there's a first ;-)

Pep: "Maybe two clear penalties (for Sterling). Maybe Arsene will say they were penalties."

Ref did well again yesterday and refused to to be swayed by moronic Huddersfield home support . Very refreshing to see us being reffed fairly of late something has definitely happened since the early games v Bournemouth and Everton where ridiculous decisions went against us .

I see Fern's attempt to avoid an amputated leg means he's a card away from a ban, if he gets it next Sunday that'd would be him missing the derby as expected.

Needs to pick one up against the Southampton so he's nicely rested for the derby.

This is refreshing, as was Wagner's honesty

As an aside, has Dyche informed us how his son would've reacted in the garden had he been pushed like Ramsey?

He missed a stone wall penalty on sterling and probably allowed them to kick the shit out of us a bit more than he should have, but other than that, he let the game decide the result and I'm still sitting with fingers and toes crossed that this level of officiating continues.

he also permitted some egregious time wasting. but still.. i agree our luck with officials has improved overall.

No action on Lukaku. What a surprise. Compare what he did to the Beckham red card against Argentina in the World Cup.

Wow.

Just wow. That's the quickest I've ever heard them let someone off. They must have studied the video evidence first thing this morning and unanimously decided it was accidental.

Seems legit

Appears they couldn’t agree and it has to be unanimous

I just watched it....it’s an outrageous decision, he could have really done some damage.

Can you give a link please? I watched Match of the Day on iPlayer and assumed it would be on there, but no mention. I would prefer them to have no excuses. Mourinho loves to play the victim.

Bang to rights, some are excusing him saying that's a natural reaction for a donkey.

Probably the weakest ref this season.

No bias/incompetence imo..
Just out of his depth.
