They have.

Rules applying equally to all clubs? Nice idea, mate. I'm with you 100%. We just need to get PiGMOL on board, the fiddling bastards.

Since then Ive seen it in almost every game that we have been involved in. To be fair I have witnessed in other games as well. However it does seem to happen a lot in our games. im sure some of it is down to some of the speed and inventiveness of passes made, however football is changing all the time with the amount of passes made and the route of those passes refs to need to adapt as well...because its s*dding irritating!

My thoughts too. Been happening for a couple of seasons and it is infuriating.( like a loose horse in the national )
I seem to recall reading an article which said that refs generally run in a diagonal line from the corner of one box to the opposing corner of the other box on the other side from the linesman.

Right on cue a chelsea player has a go at the ref for being in the way in exactly the position we're talking about.

The diagonal run is correct. The refs cover the side of the pitch furthest away from the linesmen. It's been like that for decades. The players need to allow for the ref's presence.

Referees’ body to meet City over concerns about bad tackles

Manchester City have been granted a meeting with the governing body of Premier League referees to discuss Pep Guardiola’s concern regarding tackles made against his players.

The meeting, requested by the club, is expected to take place next month but it is unlikely the Professional Game Match Officials Limited will consider City’s wish for panels to retrospectively review questionable challenges dealt with by the referee during the game.

City contacted the body this month following what the manager believed was a run of dangerous tackles on his players. The club believed nine of these deserved a higher sanction than that handed out during the match.

The tackle Kevin De Bruyne received from Crystal Palace’s Jason Puncheon in a goalless draw at Selhurst Park on New Year’s Eve and a challenge on Leroy Sané by Joe Bennett in the FA Cup fourth-round win at Cardiff City that caused the winger ankle ligament damage are thought to be among those about which the club are frustrated.

Both Puncheon and Bennett were booked which incensed Guardiola and City who believed the players should have been sent off. Yet it is understood the PGMOL, which is headed by Mike Riley, will not consider introducing a rule to allow yellow cards to be increased to reds by a panel.

The PGMOL is expected to outline to Guardiola and his staff what considerations referees take before issuing red cards following a challenge. These include the point of contact and whether excessive force is deemed to have been used.

Guardiola’s players have joined the manager in addressing the matter. After De Bruyne was again the target of a dangerous tackle by West Bromwich Albion’s James McClean during a 3-0 win at the end of last month, he said: “I don’t know what [opponents] are thinking – you can also pull a shirt, that’s more effective than a tackle.

“Sometimes it gets frustrating. A lot of teams are making a lot of fouls against us. We make a foul, we get a yellow card, I don’t know how it’s possible sometimes.”

Pawson been good so far.

yes he missed carding Monreal for a dive but carding for dives seems to be a rarity these days.

And feigning injury is a yellow card. Staying down holding your leg then getting up and running after the ref to try and get Fern sent off is feigning injury in my book. The law is clear and this is not open to interpretation in any way whatsoever.

Wilshere really is a little piece of shit, but the ref is allowing him to be.

Thought the ref did well on Sunday.
Yes there were little things you could quibble about but there always is.

Nothing majorly contentious happened to spoil the game. Wenger may not think so, but big decisions were correct.

Fairness is all we ask.
City will do the rest.

It's right there in black and white in the laws of the game.

He could well have a headache on top of his other injuries.

If he does have a headache, it must be a big one.

As someone has already mentioned, he'd be a 'perfect' signing for the SCUM.

He'd suit the ethos and personality of that Club - and their disgusting manager - so very easily; just like 'a pig in muck'.
