No. What would be shocking would be that your mother isn't your nephew

I know I shouldn't but I'll humour you.

Do you ever read back what you write? You claim he was close to great after you pointed out two potential game changing errors from him, so in other words him not doing his job to a decent standard is close to great? On what planet does that even come close to making sense?

Why do you believe the penalty claims aren't worth debating?

He won't answer any of those questions or debate the points raised mate.
Not. A. Hope.

I guarantee it.

Well, did the troll try to address your questions?
Did he fuck.

Anyway, ref for arsenal, because he did such a great job last time, is Andre marriner.

Funny

lucky i clicked it. i dont respond to you 2 because i have you both on my Foe list so i dont see your posts.
but for some reason i got curious this time. plus, the match was, what, 2 weeks ago or something? who really cares at this point? water under the bridge.

the penaty claims aren't worth debating because who would be on the other said claiming they weren't pens? everyone would agree, except maybe Liverpool fans.

my assessment of his performance was of all of his decisions excluding the 2 blown penalty shouts (1 for City, 1 for Liverpool).

That would depend on what penalty shouts you were talking about.

Yaya/ Lallana
Matip/Aguero
Yaya/Wijnaldum
Otamendi/Mane
Klavan/Aguero
Milner/Sterling
Clichy/Firmino
Mignolet/Sterling

5th league game this season we have Marriner, surely this has to be the last.

Youre right, it would.

see if you can figure out which of the ones from your list i was referring to:

phips wrote:prob. no one on here agrees with me but i thought Oliver had a fine match. he wasn't great but i think he was closer to great than he was to terrible. yes, he obviously missed the pen on Aguero/Sterling (pick one) but he also missed one on Wijnaldum..so, for as as much as you can even say this, it evened itself out. he didnt make the error that he could've and give a penalty on Mane when Otamendi got tight (i know it wasnt a pen but it looked like it could've been one of those where you could see how a ref would give it).

And some people wonder why you're given a hard time on here.

I know what incidents you've decided to select to suit your argument but I've pointed out above that there were plenty of penalty appeals that were subject of debate.

Game after game after game after.....

No second yellow on a blatant cynical foul and no penalty when the entire fucking stadium saw it.

Bored of this utterly incompetent bent shit.

Not sure about the pen but that second yellow was laughable.

If officiated to the rulesthey should have been down to 9 men and possibly a penalty- I need to see it again.

Anyway, shit reffing. Again.

Although the troll on here will say he was perfect.

Same ref doesn't see pen v spurs. How could you argue against video ref it's only way we will ever get close to a level playing field

Not that clear cut on the penalty, although I though Montreal was all over the place and ultimately won it away from Navas with his arm. I say penalty.
However I'll forgive the ref that. What I hate is from early on Mariner let Arsenal way with a lot of over the top tackles. Not even fouls given never mind a card.

Our team so often seem to pull out of 50/50 challenges and lose balls that they should have won because they seem afraid to be over physical, because we do tend to pick up cards.

I think this has been a general problem in a lot of games and it is, in my opinion , a direct result of how we are refereed.
Blue tinted glasses or not. I've watched more football this year than ever I have and I think our team play like a team that knows they are refereed differently to the opposition.

Bad and all as our defence is and other deficiencies we have, I think this had really affected our general play this season.

they can say what they like OD but any attempt to defend Marriner is meaningless babble.

The fact that our defence is far worse than any ref and we continually give away school boy shit goals is the bigger issue today .

I don't think any issue is bigger than a ref missing something that results in the opposition being a man down.

And against Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool and Arsenal that happened.

If we played against ten men in all those games I don't think we'd have to worry about our defence half as much.

So while I agree we have issues, none are as big as bad officiating.

One thing is most likely related to the other OD.
See my earlier post regarding how we are officiated.
I think our overall defensive game has suffered through the team going out there knowing they are playing under a different set of rules. We are far too timid and passive at times.

This is causing us an awful lot of unnecessary turnover in possession.

The defenders we have are not good enough, instinctively, as pure defenders.
But we cause a lot of the pressure on them through ineffective midfield play.
I'm thinking no small portion of this is the uncertainty and sometimes inaction and confusion is from our team not knowing what they can get away with in the tackle and choosing not to contest.
This is a direct result of how we have been consistently officiated throughout games.
That doesn't even take into account the big decisions that have gone against us.
Psychologically, I think it is affecting our overall performances.

But as City64 points out, none of that above has anything to do with the fact that we can't defend basic set pieces.
Our defenders are not instinctively good st defending.
