Now its time is up, I'm almost going to miss the shitty eagle one (apart from the stars). Whilst it never looked right, I've seen us win stuff with it which never happened with the old one.

Wonder if all the ones who voted were 'of an age' who remembered the time before this eagle? I suspect my kids may have different views than I do

I don't get why they'd do this. Many people graffiti themselves with the older badges. Who knows, in 10 years we may look at the eagle as a lucky charm that got us going from the depths to the top.

Yes, it will be just like wearing a retro shirt, and also an indication of how long they have supported the club.

I got the old Badge in March 97, guess what happened a few months later.

You should have had the date added to it.

I just remembered this thread whilst thinking about an old pennant and honours roll I had in my bedroom as a kid. I think it's safe to say we ended up with an absolute belter. So happy with it. I think I like it even more than the similar 90s number, and I didn't think that was possible.

Current badge is brilliant, IMHO.

Great minds think alike. I was reflecting this week too about just how awesome our badge is. They got it right. Very right.

Can honestly say I've not thought once about our badge since the change. More worried about us winning the league.

Really? No idea why...erm, nicked from elsewhere:

'Dean was originally appointed to referee the 2006 FA Cup final at the Millennium Stadium on 13 May 2006 but the Football Association later replaced him with Alan Wiley after concerns were raised about Dean's ability to be impartial towards Liverpool, who are based near his hometown in Wirral.[4] Dean made it to the Millennium Stadium eight days later though, when he refereed the Championship play-off final between Leeds United and Watford.' Indeed. So, I know, let's give him a game that could seal Liverpool's future. Brilliant.

I'm expecting something.
