My heart sank when I saw this news... I'm not sure how this selection was made, so soon after Clappedupburg fixed the Spurs match, just before City faced Marky's beloved Newcastle!

I doubt that City will protest the Clit's selection... However, I do hope there will be huge shouts & signs from the fans, asking Clittenburg how many offside goals he will be awarding to the Rags!

Saying that, the 'Burg hasn't been that bad of late and I can't see there being too much underhandedness in such a prominent game.

For me, the Rags have the advantage as they are in decent form and are at home. Win, lose or draw, I just want to see a fair game with no after match debate about the officials.

You're probably right mate but in his defence you've got to rely on your team and those lino's were shite, or just cheating pricks. Whether Clattenburgs gave them their orders is a different debate but you can only go off what you see otherwise you'll get pics of crazy looking men with in-foil on their heads.

As for the DM yellow, he could have always given him a second. Probably knew the lino's had already done enough.

Fair enough but he knew from MDM and the 4th official 120 secs later he had messed up, tin foil has been part of my match day kit for years..

1) Shall we count up all the offside goals that the 'Burg & 3 of the same team of officials awarded to the Rags, in the April 2015 derby?

2) Or, shall we simply ignore the 3 offside goals he gifted to Spurs & not question why this is the 3rd time Clattenburg is reffing us, since August?... The list would be too long, of all the major controversies the 'Burg has created, in high profile matches.

Clattenbug is still "elite" reffing, after breaking so many of PGMOL's rules, because he's Mike Riley's puppet. The Clat once asked before a match, how the team could tolerate Craig Bellamy & then, sent Bellers off with a red card.
So, I now ask why there hasn't been a proper investigation into the PGMOL.

To be honest, I'm not sure if any referee in a Manchester Derby is going to be unbiased. Are not all of them employed by PGMOL, who in turn are appointed by the Premier League, who are all for the advancement of the rags? A bit like a burglar presiding as a judge for his mates trial

Nail on the head there mate. Those who have known me for a while will definitely look at me as a tin-foil hat sort of person when it comes to the the management of the game, but its for good reason. I try to play devils advocate now but, for me, it's plain to see that the PL, who are paid by Sky et al, REQUIRE the likes of the old Sky 4 to be at the top; specifically the rags. Even Scudamore alluded to it.

So now, as we all know, it's about money and if you're paying that money, why not influence it? And if that's the case, what better way to control the output than having you're game management in the thick of it, as in the officials?

I'd like to know who pays the PiGMOL, who in turn pay the referees; anybody know the answer?

And yes, WAM, why would Clattenburg still be in place other than a control measure?

Agreed. I don't mind him as the Derby ref. It's when we play the scousers that we don't want him in charge

He has been to an extent, but last years Derby had signs of what I can only call 'Misguided Judgement'.

Any official with a desire to be part of the show is a danger to any team at the swamp, Rooney plays him like a fiddle, Cos he knows Mark likes it. Traits of Rednose are work the ref, Rooney has lost his pace his hair, not a chance he will not massage the ego of the ref.

Seems that we've got 2 of the 3 that refereed our last game against Spurs. Collins, who definitely goit it wrong, has the gig again.
