MotM v Palace

Postby Beefymcfc » Wed Oct 28, 2015 9:35 pm

Some decent performances tonight, especially for Fernando and Nacho. A few others could be considered as well.
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".

Fern, Mangala, Kev, Jaysus all honourable mentions but they got it right at the ground. NACHOMAN definitely a cut above.

Has to be King Kelechi. Thought Demichelis was excellent too - read the game brilliantly and Fernando was very good too

Gone for kelechi, looked like he'd been in the side forever, very solid performance.

Went for Nacho too, but I think he'll learn more from the pushes, pokes and general going over that the Palace tried to give him than the goals and assists.

Nacho nacho man!

Great performance, start him again on Saturday at home to Norwich! Maybe start him with with sterling up top and have navas and Kev either side of them!

Can you imagine the pace!!!

Palace had pace to burn last night but a back four that had 3 slow players in MDM, Kolarov and Zaba had them in their pockets.

Bony provides that extra dimension. I noticed that when they had an attacking play or throw in, from an attacking position, we had Kelechi defending and Bony was up top. I mentioned it to my lad as I thought pellers would want bony back and kelechi up top for the ball over the top on the break. Strange decision imo.

Kelechi got my vote, deserves it. He'll only have one home debut from teh start where he scores one and sets up two other.

Had it not been for him, I'd have gone for Fernando. What an engine. Seems to have the brain of Barry and the speed of Fernandinho. Unreal.
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

I feel sorry for Fernando that was a really special performance by him one that I hope shows a coming of age within the City team, shame it is overshadowed by Nacho.
It may be my last year as a season ticket holder as it just doesn't seem the same with so few English and local players (but I said that last year)

Kelechi can cover ground quicker than Bony so if he's back at a throw in he can press the man in possession quicker and Bony is more likely to make it stick up top if it's cleared, maybe that was the rationale behind that?
