He has been named captain, apparently.

England have not performed too well in their last few friendlies, although both teams are still on long winning streaks, so I hear.

I'm assuming Silva is not with the Spain squad, or is he?

Milner has had the armband when the captain has been subbed off, against France in 2010. Lescott, too, has also had that honour v Norway in 2012. David James as well in a match v USA in May 2005.
