Celebrating 10 years of mancityfans

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Celebrating 10 years of mancityfans

Postby dazby » Tue Nov 17, 2015 11:01 am

This incarnation of the board is ten years old and this weekend we want you to help us celebrate. It's simple. We want as many as possible of our 7300 members to log in and have a chat.

If you know one of our absent members then give them a bit of pressure and encourage them to resurface. We'll dig up some old threads and reminisce. Beer reviews, bun fights and a dipper game thats sure to be controversial.

Spread the word and be a part of it this weekend!

Muffin was an animal character in a childrens TV programme! A Barm is a round piece of bread baked specifically for sandwich filling or chips to be put in the middle.

Could never get my head around this whole barm/muffin debate.

It's obviously a barm. The establishments that refer to them as muffins obviously just have ideas above their station, in other words they're snobs.

It's a lovely initiative Dazby but this forum will always struggle along as an underused facility until some good strong moderation is introduced because there are perhaps 5 or 6 regular posters on here who are such deplorable aresholes that they scare off new posters and eventually disgust long serving posters so much that they wander off elsewhere.
When I first joined I put my hand in my pocket and sponsored the site and posted regularly. I'm a lifelong City fan and SC holder and I love my club and I wanted to make a positive contribution here but I, like many other posters, found that it wasn't worth the effort to deal with the abuse and attempted bullying from dickwipes like nigels tickle and foreverupjoesarse who are ruining this place.
The fact is that most folk are decent and decent folk don't like to share company with indecent arseholes - we all know of housing estates that are ruined by 1 or 2 shit families don't we? Well the same applies here where a total lack of strong moderation has allowed abuse to prosper and has seen many regular posers become rare visitors or leave altogether.
Apply proper moderation, ban the abusers and make this a decent site and the numbers will rise because most folk are decent folk, leave it as it is and it will remain a playground for a few abusive idiots. It's a shame but that's how it is.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

10 years ago City were in 8th place in the League on our way to a 15th place finish. It's been quite a decade.

And Muffins vs Barms? FFS, it's like telling the difference between cats and dogs. A barm is a bread roll and a muffin is an individually wrapped sweet cake, which slightly overspills the paper, hence the phrase, "I felt cheated when I took off her corset to reveal a proper muffin top".

I scare off posters with my average 1.8 posts per day?

It's very rare that I abuse anyone and it's a tad ironic that you'll call me out on this whilst abusing me.

That guy wasn't just a complete bellend but also a truly horrible human being. Brought up personal stuff in arguments that people had mentioned in confidence on here.

Plus he was an absolutely ugly cunt! And I hate using the C word. His bottle went though when Beeks offered him out.
