Is it just our bad luck or are our medical staff just inept because our list of glass players we have signed over the years just seems to grow.

RSC.
Bojinov.
Michael Johnson.
Jack Rodwell.
Vinny.
Delph.
Nasri.
There are probably more but i'm old and my memory is'nt what it used to be so is it bad luck or incompetence re:medical staff ?

Every club has a list Gillie.

This isnt unique.

Id love to know what the record is. One of our local clubs churned through 34 players due to injury. Thats not the squad size. Thats the number of players that got injured during the season.

not suprisingly, they got relegated.

RSC - long history of injuries before and after City. Inept recruitment policy, but can't blame the medical team.
Bojinov - two major injuries (ligament/achilles tendon rupture) during his City career, but no record of niggles. Unfortunate.
Michael Johnson - hard to judge, due to alleged unprofessional behaviour and mental problems.
Jack Rodwell - long history of injuries before and after City. Inept recruitment policy, but can't blame the medical team.
Vinny - I remember him being injured a couple of times for Hamburg. Not sure who's at fault for the constant reoccurances of muscle injuries, him (pushing for premature returns) or the medical team.
Delph - one major injury (ligament tear) and two unrelated minor ones (shoulder and ankle) for Villa. Worryingly, the recurring muscle injuries since his transfer could point to our medical team (see Agüero, Kompany and Richards!).
Nasri - lots of unrelated minor injuries at Arsenal as well.

Agüero and Jovetic are two other obvious ones.

Tbh, it might seem more striking because we are not following other teams as close as City in this regard, i.e. Bayern Munich's latest record makes our players look like Bruce Willis in Unbreakable.

Players are playing at their absolute physical limit once or twice a week. Plus its a contact sport. Something has to give.

We should ask Richie McCaw, what his secret was.

A tad harsh on him? He had some sort of growing disorder didn't he? Countless set backs because of this including hernia operations, the kid was just born with wrong body for the game IMO. Everybody in the game said he had the talent.

As for his personal behaviour, i think he was let down by those around him, it can't have been easy seeing it slip away having had a taste of what could have been?

Johnson had mental anxiety issues which created phantom stomach injurues which is why he didn't play.

Tbh, I don't see what's harsh? I'm acknowleding that his behaviour was partly a result of psychological issues. Getting pissed and fat sure as hell wasn't good for his injury record though, whatever other reasons there were for it. I'm neither blaming him, nor our medical team, which is why I find his case hard to judge regarding the topic at hand.

My bad in that case, i thought he had proven abdominal problems hence hernia operation/s among other physical injuries?

it doesn't matter what his situation was wrt "proven" or "psychological."

It amounted to the same thing and he doesn't deserve more, or less, or any for that matter, shame because of how he ended his career.

Any type of mental illness he suffered or is still suffering from is a real and proven thing. Unless you're in the "man up" brigade who just thought he was a giant pussy. Are you in the "man up brigade"? Yes. Or No?

cheers

Didn't Johnson drink drive and crash his car at the time? I'd probably blame that on a mental issue as well.
