Well they could have waited until they'd played us the Bastards.....
Swansea City have "reluctantly" sacked manager Garry Monk. More here:

I'm not confident. Another 'day after the Lord Mayor's parade' I fear. I'd like to see some hungry youth with fresh legs on the pitch for this one.

The Count's got his excuse at the ready at least for when he draws or loses this match.
i like Monk. Newcastle would be smart to sack the fake dutch brolly geezer and sign up Monk.
cheers

Let's hope they don't appoint anyone till Monday.

Really annoying this has happened to us twice so the team gets a new manager boost.
I'm betting it will be Moyes.

Could be Poyet. He's working in Greece is it and only a 300,000 euro break clause. Will Vinny and or Sergio be on the bench? Probably not.

It would be very surprising if they hadn't someone lined up.

I don't think the count is one for excuses personally.
As for monk I agree I think he is a likeable guy and did a good job at Swansea. Not sure what went wrong there as it seemed to be a happy ship and they have some very decent players but their poor form was sudden and has shown no sign of improving.

http://www.theguardian.com/football/201 ... -successorSwansea City are confident of moving quickly to replace Garry Monk as manager, with Huw Jenkins believed to have already identified the man he wants to appoint to drag the Welsh club clear from the relegation zone. The word inside the Liberty Stadium is that Jenkins, the chairman, is closing in on a manager currently working overseas, with the idea of Brendan Rodgers returning to Swansea regarded as a non-starter at this stage of his career.
Dennis Bergkamp, the Ajax No2, has long been admired, while Gus Poyet, who is currently in charge of AEK Athens, was close to getting the Swansea job in the past. Mark Warburton, the Rangers manager, fits the Swansea template, although he recently pledged his future to the Scottish club amid interest from Fulham. David Moyes seems an unlikely option, with neither party believed to be keen.
Good thing I'm not a betting man.

Well I hope the press tear into them for finding the replacement before sacking the current manager, just like they did to Liverpool.
Or was it just us who got a shoeing for sacking Hughes like that?

A lot of tweets about Giggs being in the running and him not averse to the idea of leaving the swamp to take over at the Swans.
