Arsenal Away

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Arsenal Away

Postby MUS » Tue Dec 15, 2015 10:34 am

A bit early but some reasons why we need to beat Arsenal next Monday:

1: We always seem to lose or throw away 3 easy points at Arsenal
2: Our record against the top teams has been terrible so far this season, we need to make a statement
3: We should be above Arsenal at this stage if we're serious about winning the league
4: Arsenal fans seem to get themselves in a frenzy whenever they play us, it annoys me. Terrible fans.
5: We're not even 2nd right now, we're third. For a team of our quality that just isn't good enough.
6: We've already had several shambolic performances this season. We simply can't afford any more.
7: If we take care of Arsenal then it puts down a marker for the rest of the league as they are our closest challengers
8: We have Leicester shortly after, it's a perfect opportunity for us to be top of the league come January

There are many more but I have to get back to work.

Cheers

Yep, something with a bit more depth like 'let's fuck these cunts up' would have blown the mind that bit more.

Is my mind playing tricks at me or haven't we actually been decent at Emirates recently? It's not like they're Pompey, it is Arsenal after all.
At least the 0-2 win when Milner scored at least one, the cup win when Edin ran like Usain Bolt for 100 yards, a draw last season spring to mind

2: Our record against the top teams has been terrible so far this season, we need to make a statement
Agree. Big improvement needed

3: We should be above Arsenal at this stage if we're serious about winning the league
absolutely bollocks. All I care is that we are on top after the final game of the season.

4: Arsenal fans seem to get themselves in a frenzy whenever they play us, it annoys me. Terrible fans.
A late winner and Adebayor-esque celebration from Clichy would be ace

5: We're not even 2nd right now, we're third. For a team of our quality that just isn't good enough.
Yes, improvement needed but calm the fuck down

6: We've already had several shambolic performances this season. We simply can't afford any more.
Incorrect. Unfortunately it is extremely likely that we will see more shambolic performances but hopefully we are strong enough to still win the title

7: If we take care of Arsenal then it puts down a marker for the rest of the league as they are our closest challengers
Yep LFTCU. In an ideal world it would knock their confidence and start their yearly downfall

8: We have Leicester shortly after, it's a perfect opportunity for us to be top of the league come January
See point 3.
Always nice to be on top though...or am I thinking something else than football now?

There are many more but I have to get back to work.

Cheers

Anyway. Personally I'd want to beat this lot for being fucking whining hypocrites. They first were part of a group building a system which allows them to bully poorer sides but now that they have to take it they're proper crybabies. Wenger is the worst.

And I have couple of friends who are arse fans and they're getting all giddy. It would be nice to shut them up

Will someone film it and put it in youtube? I've always wanted to know what Nigel's tackle looks like.

I'll wear a GoPro but I don't think it'll be suitable for YouTube, I'll upload it to Pornhub.

'2: Our record against the top teams has been terrible so far this season, we need to make a statement'.

We haven't actually played many top teams so far. Drew away to the rags and lost away to Spurs and that's it for the current top 6. It's true we also lost to a team who would like to be a top team but aren't.

It will be good to win at the weekend as always, but this game decides nothing.

Probably the only fixture out of 38 that I'd take a draw now if offered. Biggest game of the season so far, this one.

(except maybe the early Chelsea game. Had they somehow won that game their season could be panning out quite differently...)

I am certain Arsenal will fuck us up as they normally do.

Would be happy with a draw and a dipperesque handholding over exaggerated celebration.
