Lawro's opponent for this weekend's Premier League fixtures is the shit comedian and Phoenix Nights star Justin "Rag" Moorhouse.

Lawro had decided he wants Arsenal to win the title as he has bet against us for the first time in a very LONG time.
Merson has also gone for his beloved Gunners.

I cant remember the last time we were underdogs?

Lawro says

I am not quite sure what to expect from Manchester City at the moment.
It looks like they will be without their captain Vincent Kompany at the back again on Monday and, although Sergio Aguero is fit enough to return to their attack, I cannot see him lasting 90 minutes.

In contrast, Arsenal's important players are in form - like Aaron Ramsey in midfield, who has come back into the team and started scoring.
Defensively they look settled too and I have a feeling the Gunners are going to win.
Lawro's prediction: 2-1
Justin Moorhouse's prediction: 2-2

Merson says

I'm going for Arsenal to win this one, and go on to win the title comfortably. I've watched Man City a few times, and they keep on falling over the line against teams.

You have to think Arsenal are probably going to go out of the Champions League to Barcelona, and Man City should go through against Dynamo Kiev. City also have another two games in the Capital One Cup, where they usually play their best side, so there's four extra matches. If Arsenal win this, I think they kick on.

What has changed for Arsenal this season? The other teams being unpredictable has helped, nobody has had major momentum throughout the season, but Arsenal have been mildly consistent.

They were very professional last week against Aston Villa - they came out of the blocks, and didn't come out with the attitude Liverpool had at Newcastle the week before, even though Villa are rock bottom. Their attitude has been spot on.

PAUL PREDICTS: 3-1

Arsenal 33 points - Merson says they are mildly consistent, whatever that means
City 32 points - Merson says we keep falling over the line, whatever that means

I'm a bit surprised there, I thought Lawro would go for a draw, he usually does in tough-to-call games.

Mildly consistent is bollocks, either you are consistent or inconsistent. In any case, I prefer my consistency to be spicy.

We aren't playing well in the league at all but you just know one of those special City performances could happen at anytime . The players will have had a good rest now the CL is done and dusted until late february and should now be refreshed and ready to hit peak form once again ........ 3 pts at the Emirates and its lift off time again ! Not the same without Kompany though he is our leader and usually solid in the big games ,

anyway fuck off Merson and Lawro im going for a 4-2 City supershow !

Let's be honest nobody in their right minds would expect us to win this

Lawro has it bang on in his first sentence.
He doesn't know what to expect from us, and neither do we.
If we turn up we can and should win, if not we won't. Just not convinced we will turn up though, who knows.

Easy to bet against us. I'm not sure what to pick although Silva back with Aguero is a missing ingredient for us, except that usually takes a few games when Kun returns and both teams seem a bit unpredictable.

<In crappy French accent. >. Yes but do Arsenal have the mentality to match it with a quality team like Manchester City? The players have a fragility that can be exposed in a pressure situation.

We're out of the CL group stage part of the season, which Pellegrini struggles with every season. I expect us to kick on in the league now and with 9 days to prepare for this game there is not a chance in hell we'll be beaten.

Good observation. Last season we pushed to the top by January 1st with a nice run. Then fell apart at the seams.
