Kompany, is this the straw that broke the camels back

10 minutes. Another injury. Really sad to see but he is as reliable as the English weather.

I'm not advocating selling him, who would buy him anyway given his injury record, but has the time come to completely overhaul our defence? He clearly now cannot be relied upon to remain injury free and play most games, which is what the rock of the defence should do.

I think Pellegrini was hoping Mangala would improve by playing with VK regularly and the early season form boded well. Since then though that plan has gone awry and we desperately need a solid back four.

VK will still be an important squad member but his time as our talisman must surely be coming to the end. Who do we buy in January?

It's worrying because our defending for their goal was terrible again. It's weird that Mang and Otter have played together before at another club but they look like complete strangers!

With Vinnie it's really a shame. I'd like to hope we wouldn't just sell him but I'd imagine when he's fit (which I hardly ever) he will be the first name on the sheet. How are any of the other defenders supposed to build on a partnership if they're getting swapped about every couple of weeks. So what do we do with him?

I'm annoyed as well but it's more realistically like plan without him and use his brain instead of his body. Broke dick cunt.

Cheers

If the situation doesn't improve between now the end of the season then a tough decision needs to be made in the summer.

Not just their goal, they had a few simple chances first half as well, especially the free header, where a better team would have punished us. £70m for the pair and they look worse than a £7m pairing.

Some players carry injuries and play on but I think it's unlikely we'll see kompany have a long spell in the team which unsettles the whole team, plus him saying would play for his country if he was still carrying a knock says to me sell him on if we can get decent money

Actually Mangala and Otamendi did not play together, but actually they were position rivals. Can you imagine the defensive disaster would had been if we didn't buy the argie in the summer and decided to keep those three plus Denayer?

Point blank said, Kompany is a liability, fucked our season because he was injured, and fucked our last season because of his form. I don't want to sound like a cunt, I know how important he and Yaya were in out titles, but when they started acting like they do, maybe it is time to move one.

Nobody is more important than the club.

What's next for our defence then. As others have pointed out we paid 70 million for the chuckle brothers.

This policy of spending massive on foreign defenders isn't working. Likewise we paid peanuts for zab and kompany and they've proven their worth.

Don't give up on Vinny. He is having bad luck with injuries at the moment but there is still time for our captain to play a big part in the second half of the season. Also it's not his fault his replacements are not playing well.

We should buy in January as our season could depend on decent defending which without Komps is unlikely. To avoid the settling in period we should buy from anothe PL club & if we can get English, so much the better as no need to disrupt our squad lists.

May not be popular choices, but for me Shawcross could do a job (not cup tied in Europe), as could Smalling (who is) & with Stones as probably the best of the 3, but we'd be unlikely to prize him away from Everton

Well we've no idea how Denayer would have fared or the partnership he'd have formed, so it's impossible to say.

And how has Kompany 'started acting like he does'? What, injured? How's that linked to Yaya? Do you want to add Aguero in as well? How about Zaba. And Silva's missed quite a few games, so is he acting up?

Has he tried having an operation on it? I don't believe he has as I don't remember seeing it reported, but I don't know for certain. He might have to, and quickly, if he wants to play for Belgium in the Euros, or indeed for City again at some point. Without knowing the nature of the injury, what options there are to cure it or what has been done about it before, it is hard to say what should and should not be done.
