Aguero as a lone striker.

Maybe it just doesn't suit him. Maybe we need to play with a pair. There is no doubt he has looked less effective this season. Everybody clamoured for extra bodies in midfield but we don't look any better for it. Certainly it doesn't shore up the defence. And as a result we often look powder puff in attack. So is it time to go back to playing with a pair of strikers.

Well we won 2 comps playing with 2 up top so you would think it's our best way to play but we would have to drop one of Kdb,Sterling or Silva for it to work again.

You'd have to have two strikers to play them.
Seriously tho, he will come good, don't stress. If needs must, I would however be tempted to play one of yaya or sterling with him. Not a change of players just a shuffle of spots that way.

Who did he play with in the Newcastle game.
It's the injuries that are the issue.

No doubt Sergio will kick into gear soon enough, problem for me. He is likely to get another injury, we are a striker light. Pellers knew that when the club let Edin go. January can win it for the club that wants it the most. Will we spend or wait for Pep to arrive.

Cant play 2 strikers unless every midfielder in my opinion is willing to track back to help out with the lack of men in the middle, so playing yaya means we cannot play 2 up front I made a thread about it but I feel when playing players like Yaya we cannot afford to play 2 strikers as we get caught too top heavy and thats why we leak too many goals.

If we are to persist with one up front three is enough. I'd like to see Ian a little more though

The combo of our 3 is wrong for me we lack variety, we dominated the Arsenal game, never looked like scoring though, if the game last night was at our place we would have battered them. Pellers needs to give Ian more than a token 2 mins, which to me is poor on his part, where is the bravery in saying I want the win.

I think Kelechi would play perefectly with Kun.

I think so too and it should at least be tried. If it means dropping Yaya then so be it but we know it ain't gonna happen

With all the games we have coming we shouldnt be thinking a player gets dropped but just rested. Pretty well all of the "regulars" need a break so it's ideal to get the others fully involved. (except Willy C)

I try not to get too excited about nacho starting as it's unlikely to happen. We have (in pellers eyes) 2 senior strikers and we can all see one is rubbish. So if he doesn't want to play kelechi I'm just saying there are others in the squad we could try.
But yes id love to see he and kun tried up top. I'm not certain he's the ideal foil, but I am certain it would be fun to watch.

To me? A non-starter. It's the injuries that are the problem.
He was doing fine early in the season on his own.

With the added flair and pace and directness of KDB and Sterling one does wonder how the fuck we have only managed to score 8 goals away from home all season ???? Bony and Aguero powder puff in the extreme (away from home) to say the very least ........... sort this mystery out and there will be no stopping us for sure !

I expect more from us all over the pitch, however Sergio has to do more. If he is not scoring we put down to not being upto speed, how many others get this patience, A rampant City 2nd half of the season is down to the manager and players wanting to tear teams apart. The injuries have not helped Sergio or us, but he needs to up his game and be a leader.

I'd suggest it has a lot to do with not having the balance right. We've gone from a possession based game to a more direct style this season which means we aren't controlling games as well as we've done in previous seasons.
I personally prefer the more direct style in general but it is taking us time to adapt for varying reasons.

I hate to say it but KDB has been marked absent away from home this season. And Sterling isn't super reliable either. The dip in away form may have something to do with Silva's lay off.

You're not going to like this Piccs but I think we're missing having Nasri as an option when it comes to controlling games. I agree Silva's absence hasn't helped either.
I agree about KDB, thing is he's very direct which I do admire but in certain situations/games it can work against us as the risks he takes don't come off and that puts us on the back foot.
Not easy this management lark despite all the experts we find on message boards.

It has worked with devasting effect at the Etihad in the league , CL and Carling Cup and away from home in the CL but not for some bizarre unknown reason away from home in the league . This is the only outstanding issue that is preventing us from having a "perfect" season as it has probably cost us something in the region of 7 - 9 points . Real head scratcher for sure !
