To be fair, when watching re-runs of old matches from the '70s and '80s, that pitch would have been deemed magnificent. Anyone remember when some bloke had to mark out the penalty spot with a tub of white paint as all the mud had lost it. Franny Lee at Derby iirc.
That said, it was poor in this day and age. But, as they say, it is the same for both sides and you would expect top notch players to be able to play on any surface. We won and were the better side creating more chances, so I don't think it was too much of a problem

I was there and we did a great job of walking on it for 70 mins. Watford are a footballing side and did fine. I am not giving our players any excuses. Great win another baffling performance., bad pitch or not mate.
