Ex-City Players in the Media

I thought I'd start this from mentioning it in the other thread.
It seems like the majority of ex-City players have it in for us for no reason at all and never fail to stick the boot in when given the opportunity.

Which one disappoints you the most?

Walsh disappoints me most. As I said in the 10k post he was my first ever favourite City player. I'm assuming he wasn't treated well when he was leaving as there's no other reason for him to have the animosity towards us.

Quinn was a fan favourite and he's acted like a right turd ever since we've been taken over. It's only recently that he's decided to throw a few compliments our way. I'm sure OD said he saw him on some night out and Quinn spouted some bollocks about the club losing its integrity and isn't a family club for the fans any more? Beagrie is another turd.

Mills is but no one is arsed about that twat.

It's usually Summerbee, Lee, Marsh that constantly have our back in the media.

Quinn disappoints me most. He was worshipped at City. If my daughter had been a lad she was going to be called Niall after him. He did let it slip once that he had been virtually sacked (in his opinion) when he left. It seemed odd and he back tracked a bit. It was clear he had let it slip accidentally but it might explain his attitude. I hate that assumption that we are no longer a family club. We have a fucking big family stand at our ground, loads of stuff for kids to get involved in. We target 70% local kids for the academies etc. Don't think I've ever felt as involved. Too many ex pros from City spouting shit.

Gary Owen always fought our corner and spoke well when he was on Sky , word is Sky dropped him for no legitimate reason ........ they couldn't actually have an ex City pundit speaking highly of us on a regular basis could they ???

Quinn for me too. My first real hero on the terraces. Gutted when he left. What makes it worse when he dumps on us is that he raves about Sunderland still as if he is a lifelong Mackem

We should have hinchcliffe, rosler and dickov in the studios. Fuck the media. I hate them

All the more baffling why some people would tell the likes of Kompany, to pack his bags.
He's what you hopefully will be watching in the future. Him and the likes of Zabba and Hart and hopefully anyone else who sticks around and enjoys success with us.
So don't piss them off.

Hinchcliffe was commentating on us for the Everton first leg wasn't he? He made some weird comments for a guy that was the 'City pundit' on GMR for years. He didn't do us any favours so I'm guessing that he's been told if he wants to stay on Sky to act a certain way.

I wish Bellamy was here longer than he was. He'd probably just tell the fuckers where to go live on air.

Assuming Tiatto still bigs us up? There's this imagine of him in the latest kit so I'm guessing he's the City rep over in Oz? Dazby? Can't see him wearing the kit proud as punch if he hates us.

Me too. Absolutely loved him as a player. He looks well proud to be wearing that. Would be a nice touch if the club got him involved over there.

When City toured in the pre season Danny was speaking at events etc.

He still feels the love. However he's not the greatest public speaker. A quiet chap is our Danny.

Little double-headed anecdote:

I met Tiatto, briefly, before the penultimate game at Maine Road (against Sunderland). He was wearing a ludicrous brown bomber jacket and looked cool as fuck.

I also met The Goat (still my all-time City favourite) and Mick McCarthy, who was wandering around on the pitch before kick-off. I went over to say hello to him with my dad in front of the North Stand, which Mick was staring at, daydreaming, and he said, 'Hi fellas, I was just having a look around. It takes me back; I've got some wonderful memories from this place.' Top man!

We don't often get the same commentators here I don't think, but the times I've heard Quinny he's actually been pretty reasonable to us.

Danny Mills is such a fucking cunt to us on a regular basis that he's the only commontator I'd have To go fucking mental at if I saw him in the street.

Quinn certainly told me straight out he's Sunderland through and through.

He also said he hoped we hadn't lost our soul or sold our soul with the takeover... something to that effect.

He bugged the shit out of me with some of his commentating/ punditry but seems to have settled down on that front.

Really nice guy to be fair to him. He's just not a city fan, as much as we would love him to be.

Gary Owen has fucking disappeared. I wonder if Gillie knows where he is...

Mind you, he might not be the best one to head the search... he'd come back with Peter Barnes :)

Good man Gillie

Trevor Sinclair has a love for us (and West Ham). Seems to be getting into the media more as well recently, so hopefully that'll help even some of it out.

Walsh and Quinn are really disappointing though and its hard to understand. You hear people like Rosler, Dickov, the Goat and Morrison on the radio and they all talk about 'We', so why are some so bitter?

I don't understand the desire to have someone with blue blinkers on. Summerbee, as funny as his Derby outing was, was a fucking embarrassment just as much as that cunt paddy Crerand is for the rags.

I find Quinn largely even handed, and hearing Danny Mills commentating most weeks, he is a harsh critic of most teams.......it's not like he's throwing us under the bus and bigging up other clubs at our expense.

Bellamy has been like a breath of fresh air on bein sports in recent months, and I think he certainly has a little hard on for us from what I've seen. Gray and keys also tell it like it is now they are away from sky, as (surprisingly) did Michael Owen who well and truly climbed down off the fence when recently they did a show about Uniteds managerial issues.

It's all down to sky's editorial policy. Outside the uk, the pundits isn't as blatantly anti-city

As far as I'm aware Sinclair was a boyhood City fan, didn't that goal against the Rags mean the world to him?

MOTD spotted him in the crowd against Everton the other night too.

I would have loved to have seen more of Mike Summerbee on Sky though, proper passionate about City. I loved that he had the balls to point out Skys bias towards the rags live on air. Many outside City may have sneered him as being bitter etc but his prediction that we would go to Old Trafford an take them apart was bang on the money.
