Who's going down?

I have to say, I'm impressed with the business Newcastle have done this transfer window. It's hard to see how they could have strengthened their matchday 18 any further for the £29m they've spent (taking into account today's prices and the players they're likely to be able to attract).

You'd think they've got enough about them now to win a few games and stay up comfortably. Shelvey, Mitrovic, Townsend, Sissoko, Wijnaldum et al: they've actually got the makings of quite a decent side there.

My main question is this: Why, with all the money swishing around in the Premier League, have Norwich chosen to stick with Cameron Jerome up front? Chucking £9m at someone like Jordan Rhodes would've been a small risk with potentially huge dividends. Instead, he's likely to get Boro promoted at Norwich's expense.

Villa are surely down, and will be joined by two of Sunderland, Newcastle, Norwich, Bournemouth and Swansea. My money's on Sunderland and Norwich, as I think Swansea will pick up a fair few points at home and Afobe has already shown that he's able to win games for Bournemouth. Afobe... why didn't Norwich go in for him? Baffling.

i think it's Villa, Sunderland and Norwich.

You're right about the barcodes spend. Interesting to see if McLaren can get anything thoughtful out of this side, as they now have a side as good as Stoke imo.

cheers

That sounds likely, however, I am not getting involved as I tipped Leicester to go down at the start of the season!

Villa are resigned to it.
So its two places. Sunderland and then one from the next five, its probably Norwich who are the most vulnerable of that 5.

Might aswell relegate VILLA now.

Apparently Garde is ready to fuck off.

Think Norwich and Sunderland are the other two.

Fat Sam has a habbit of pulling rabbits out of hats so I wouldn't be surprised if he kept Sunderland up - Villa seem dead and buried and I think Bournemouth and Norwich could join them.

I swear I used almost exactly the same words two years ago but..

Norwich are just very average going forward and not solid at the back. I like the club but I fear for them

Out of the other teams. Newcastle will be safe I think. Too much quality. Im sure Villa will get a small run going but surely it's too little too late.
The third along with Billa and Norwicg is tough. Swansea need to steady their ship or they'll Be the third but could easily be Bournemouth too if they run out of steam

Could West Brom end up in trouble?

Villa
Sunderland
West Brom

As is often the case it's lack of goals that invariably does for a team. Wouldn't be sad to see any of those go down to be honest

Newcastle may have bought their way out of it, rather than Villa who obviously decided not to bother.

I think Sunderland will go and there's usually one who gets dragged in and can't save themselves. Swansea were looking likely for that and it would be hilarious if it was Chelsea, but I think it'll be West Brom. Naismith could make a difference for Norwich, so West Brom need to actually get something out of Berahino since they chose not to sell him.

Sunderland
Sunderland
And
Sunderland
What a shame.. and finally a team managed by that genius tactician Allardyce
