Handicapped Everton fan, only a kid, abused by city fans

Norwegian paper reporting that a kid who is handicapped, in all Everton gear, sat amongst City supporters during the semi final at the Etihad was abused by city fans with people screaming stuff like "you should have been drowned when you were born".
If there is any truth to this I hope the fuckers who behave like this, whomever you are, get a ban for life from the stadium.

Shocking. There will unfortunately always be a couple of dick heads who shout vile abuse or racist abuse. There really is no place for it

There were loads of stories of city fans attacking Everton fans and one in particular with a video of the brain dead Everton who stood up when they scored giving it the big un.
I don't condone what happened next but if you chose to sit in the home end as an away fan you keep quiet and watch the game, what you don't do is stand up and act like a dick.
In regard to this story can anyone clarify if disabled fans are segregated or do they share an area. I ask this as he seemed to claim city stewards sat him in with blues. So he is either telling porkies and bought a ticket in the home end or he was sat in the wrong area by someone at city.
I don't condone anyone giving children abuse in particular ones with disabilitys but if he has purposely bought a ticket for a semi final between a Manc and Scouse team and took his kid with him he needs to take a long look at himself. Sadly football is not rugby where everyone sings hymms and holds hands.

The press misreported the fan in the home end story so badly I'm sceptical about the disabled fan bit too.

I know it is like this but there is NO reason the culture has to be this way. That two people who support different teams cannot sit side by side no matter the outcome of the game is insane.
That one would have to seat fans of the different teams in separate locations shows how mad the culture has become.
There is no excuse to behave like a caveman no matter the situation. I refuse to accept that a person would be to blame himself because he went to this or that game and sat in the wrong place. Any person should be able to sit any where and cheer for his team as long as he does not go negative towards the other team then no person should take offense. Only a real hypocrite would get mad at another person cheering for his or her team. We all have our teams, usually for the same reason and we all cheer them on.
This starts for me on the field where players are hurdling abuse at the officials and each other and continues in the stands.
One might not like the US for alot of things but man they got it right when it comes to sports culture both with behaviour from athletes and fans. No such thing as an away section over there.

Fesan mate, I consider myself a highly peaceful bloke never had a fight since early years at High School and never got into bother in a pub or anything. However over here emotions run high when it comes to football and passion causes folk to act differently to how they may do in normal circumstances. Fans sitting together is a crazy idea and would result in a return to those dark days of the 70's and 80's.
In an ideal world we would and should be able to sit side by side but in the Premiership or Championship for that matter it isn't going going to happen.

Sad to see that the culture is so entrenched that people arent even able to see how it could be different.
Justifying anti social behaviour because of football is no different than justifying it for any other reason.
You dont blame a girl if she was physically or mentally abused because "she was asking for it". So why is it we blame a fan for "sitting in the wrong place" if he or she gets abused?
if you ho into the wrong part of town the chances of getting robbed increase but that does not make the act any less wrong both legally and morally. And noone condones robbing in those areas "because thats how it is".
Wont continue this discussion as there is no point, but I truly feel for those who cannot see how these cases are the same and how insane it is to think you can treat others like garbage "because its football". That is no more sane than accepting abusive behaviour "because its tuesday".
Have a nice night everyone, good times to be a blue!

OP, you need to understand the culture before remarking on it. This is not WWE, this is not just entertainment to many, it is their life.
As for the original, no fan I know would do what was described but you do get the odd fuckwit who hasn't been brought into the fold. Although, like on many occasions, shit like this is made up to attack the support.
Unless the individual wasn't seen to be physically disabled, he'd have got shit, but usually a safe passage. If seen to be disabled, he'd have got the silent treatment, only a look, one that would have still shown distain. But isnt that what you want, equality and all that?
We have a supporter on here who could tell us better than mer. He knows how City fan act, and I'd suggest we're generally decent, in the main.

I think the article is garbage too.
I'm with Fesan. We are extremely passionate about our sport in Oz, and we don't segregate. We have supporter areas where fans can choose to mix exclusively with their own. The fun is with your banter, not your fists.
You fight, you get hauled out by security quick smart, you go to court, get banned from the stadium for life and a hefty fine.
