EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal set to make surprise £30m offer for striker

ARSENE WENGER is set to launch a £30m bid for unwanted Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony.

The Ivorian outcast stayed in Manchester on Sunday when City lost 3-2 to Wenger’s Arsenal in a pre-season friendly in Gothenburg.

And Etihad boss Pep Guardiola dropped a massive hint the ex-Swansea star is on his way out by later revealing Bony and centre back Eliaquim Mangala only remained Manchester City players “at the moment”.

It is understood factions at the Gunners are urging Wenger to sanction a move for the 27-year-old, as he is the best option available at the moment.

But the Frenchman has yet to be convinced about signing a player who struggled to make an impact at City following his £25m move from Swansea in January of last year.

If he's used in a role that suits him he can be very effective. When we played Bournemouth last season you could see what he's capable of when he's paired with a small speedy player to act as a foil for.

I fully expect him to score against us when we face him.

Aguero is doing a Messi to the forwards at City, they have to adapt to his game,,, Zlatan, Villa, were asked to do things they were not great at Barca, Until Neymar and Suarez arrived it was a one man forward line, like us. Sane and Mojito Brown, give us the options that will suit the team without compromising the MF.
