It says so here:

And is denied here:
http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football ... on-meeting

Can't believe we'd get into bed with the very same clubs that have tried to stop us at every step.

I really cannot believe I am saying this, but I miss the period before Platini and his cunts.

First, they fucked up the European Championship with almost every country in Europe qualified, then they made that Euro Tour we will have in 2020. They fucked up clubs with FFP and now they want to change the Champions League and Europa League.

Notice how things like this happen when the rags and dippers look like they are going to miss out on the CL money.

An appalling day for football if the entrants to European competition was based on the club rather than merit

Weird enough, this is not their idea.

You lot will not believe who is the "mastermind" of this shit.

Barcelona.

Or Uefalona how I like to call them, proposed a few months ago that UEFA will introduce a wild card for the big clubs. So, IF you are Liverpool and you fail to get into Champions League, you can use that wild card to qualify into that league. Fucking funny how they got their mind into this, when they each year qualify from the most boring league in the world.

Not so weird though. They (and Real Madrid) stand to lose a lot if tv-companies would start to pay less for a Spanish league that is effectively dead, which must be a very possible event in the near future. Setting everything in place for a European League is definitely in their interest.

Yes, indeed, but I think paying less for the Spanish league will not affect them at all. They and Real are the clubs that will always gain more money than others at any point from now on. Just look at what hour El Clasico is since 2013. (16:00), good hour for the viewers in Asia.

What I consider to be weird is that Barcelona will not have any problems qualifying in the Champions Cup, but still would want that system. Sure, financially for everyone it will be more to gain with games like Barcelona - Arse or City, vs Barcelona - Bate. But with this, they are killing the smaller football in Europe.

Just read that Galatasaray was banned from Europe today because of the FFP. They did not have any warnings, according to their executives and if you think about it, sounds a bit off. They are a rich club, huge support and amazing marketing in that area. Still, they are out.

I'll probably do the same, but only professional football.
Will keep on watching amateur football, though.

i don't even believe this article...i'm 100% sure this meeting was about planning a summer champions cup that they bring to the states every summer that is quite lucrative to both clubs and organizers.

the fact that the media turns it into Breakaway League meetings is all too typical.

I don't believe a word of it, and i don't believe City want anything to do with any breakaway league that someone might try and form at the expense of the Prem.

If someone talked about the next generation Champions League story...something with a closed shop instead of CL, then fuck it...i could care less one way or another. It's not what it says on the tin anyway, so it might as well just be the elite 24 teams in Europe and the UK slugging it out every season in a closed shop. Who cares.

Would actually make the Europa Cup even more interesting and tbf it isn't complete shit right now imho. i'd have been just as proud to lift that as the League Cup...competition is 100% stiffer there for certain.

cheers

Fly to incestuous sheets with the Whores of Babylon ? I hope not.

If they want to break away GOOD , so be it , let them depart from us , taking their crooked referees and tide of putrid corruption with them

We will remain in fair competition alongside clubs supported by, and belonging to , THEIR FANS, winning the right to European competition by skills and endeavour on the field of play, not based upon AVARICE, 'istreee, or any other of their false and loathsome values.

O, THAT THIS BE TRUE ! Let the cabal of thieves depart ; OUR game will be better for it, and what WAS our will be OURS AGAIN.
Let them banish themselves forever into their land of PLASTIC delusion where they can gorge themselves on the cup of abomination until they choke, thence to be cast into the most wretched pits of Hades and immersed in boiling vommit .

It's all about more CL money.

But I agree with Groucho Marx - I wouldn't want to belong to any club that would have me as a member

Charlie Stillitano is just an American businessman who has an MLS "pedigree" that he's turned into being a star-fucking footy exec wannabe who pals around with the footballing elite.

I listen to him on the radio a couple times a week and he's an insufferable douchebag who name drops Baconface every couple minutes.

You're reading too much into this because you don't know the characters involved i think dude.
