PL away tickets capped at £30 for next 3 years

The top-flight clubs have agreed to introduce the measure in response to the ongoing debate over the cost of attending matches.

The announcement was made by the Premier League today and means that away fans will pay no more than £30 for tickets from the start of next season through until the end of 2018-19.

Premier League clubs will share an £8bn bonanza when the domestic and overseas TV deals kick-in next season, but a board meeting between the clubs last month failed to reach a resolution on how the benefits of that could be passed onto supporters.

Well that's spot on to be honest, it makes being a travelling supporter more beneficial.

I notice they flew above the twenties plenty campaign.

Either way it's a good move.

Well the way the rags are going they'll need someone to fill those clapped out seats they force on their fans.

Does that mean home fans will just infiltrate the away end?

A good start, but why stop at £30 for away fans? Home fans deserve better. The new TV money could mean every fan who attended a PL game last season, be let in for free next season. Of course, that is unrealistic and will never happen. But having an entrance cap on all fans is realistic and should happen IMO. Football is nothing without fans and there will come a point soon when the only people who can afford to go to games are the fans who will just as easily drop football for something else. What is left then?

More and more of a clubs turnover is now commercial and TV money. It is time to give back to the fans

This is a start but it's nowhere near enough.
Cap all non-corporate tickets in the Prem at a max of £30, and do away with those discriminatory match catagories.
It's about time to let the fans in on some of the success of the league since it's been built on their backs over the years.
