Just flicked it on BT. Houghton gives away a fk right in front of goal and gets a yellow. Longball straight down the other end and an Arsenal player takes out one of ours just outside the box. Straight red.

0-0, 15 gone.

That Arsenal forward is leaving the defence for dead.

Ref is useless. Could have given loads of yellows.

Yep. I would've thought they'd have female referees?

Getting chances, just no goal yet.

Great run from Duggan and a really good cross straight onto Ross' head.

Great goal. Duggan made that, excellent work closing down and a great cross. Miles better than Bony lol

What a save that was. Thought that was 2-0 all the way.

Penalty. Should've had one for handball as well.

Suppose that makes up for it.

Anybody know who the woman commentator plays for? She seems to be very much Arsenal orientated.

Hope she got a yellow for that. Turning into dirty fuckers now.

I think it sort of said it all when they mentioned Arsenals last game being on TV and then that their next would be against Chelsea. Looks like they're BTs chosen team.

Not a bad game though and looks like we've got some really cracking players coming in.

Well worth the 90 minutes.

Can you get women in the Fantasy Dream Team. Wouldn't mind Duggan in mine.

Did she have a scouse-ish accent? If it's who I'm thinking of, she used to play for the team that had to make way for City Women's team when the Super League formed.

She sounded like she was from Yorkshire, or at least towards the hills, and sheep.

I'm fairly ambivalent myself but on a day where there's no PL it was good to watch one of our sister clubs. I think the commentary gave me more of an incentive to get involved, actually cheering when we scored. It seemed very much like we hear when the men's team are playing, lots of praising for the other team and little praise.

And there was a very decent crowd there. Like me, although I didn't make it, there were probably many people wanting to get out to a game and what better way to go than watch a City team.

All-in-all, a good watch.

The women's team are a decent team to watch and they try to play the game in the right way. We do have plenty of good players in there but I feel we still miss a real top quality goalscorer. Loads of possession but somehow a mixture of lacking composure in the final 3rd as well as no great finisher.

Toni Duggan is the main name up front and she will score some goals but not the 15 to 20 we could do with. Can never fault her effort though and she does have the ability to score the odd special goal or 2. Jane Ross as the number 9 doesn't look like a prolific goalscorer either but links play quite well and is just settling in really. Similarly Assllani looks a very talented player but won't score many.

We are missing Izzy Christiansen a lot in the midfield with her energy as well as scoring with late runs into the box. Nick Cushing the manager has taken a bit of a gamble I think with the size of squad. Currently we really only have 11 fit players available plus a sub keeper due to injuries to 3 key players and one 16 year old away on international duties. The 4 on the bench today were real novices who won't get on unless we are coasting a game or someone else gets an injury.

So far so good though with 2 league wins and one in the FA Cup. based on what I saw today it's Chelsea we need to be ahead of this season and if we can do that we will be winning things.

Lucy Ward is the commentator. Huge Leeds fan. Should google her story. Got sacked after 17 years with that club because her parter is Neil Redfern. Tried to tell her it was because she spent too much time with the BBC at the World Cup after they had given her permission to go. Football clubs do seem to have trouble treating people right.
