Congrats to Mahrez on winning PFA Player of the Year award.

Shows what a joke of an award it is when a striker that isn't even top scorer in the league currently can win it.

Has Sergio ever won it.....

He's not a striker though. In my opinion he probably has been player of the year but there's something fishy about that whole Leicester team. Take Vardy for example, you don't go through a journeyman career and then become international class at 29. Energy levels for the whole team are extraordinary.

I don't think anyone could argue with the idea of Sergio being the best player in the Premier league over the past few years. In my opinion he's head and shoulders above the rest, a different class. I know he misses games with injury along the way but it just seems very odd he gets overlooked year after year when he consistently produces the goods.

If he was playing for the rags or scousepol he wold have won about 4 by now.

No arguments with Mahrez winning it.

The problem with this thing is that voting starts in Febraury, that is just nonsense as the season is still far from over.

In regards Aguero, yes it is ridiculous that he's never received this award or got in the XI, this year's exclusion can be part explained by timing, he only really got going in January this season, prior to that he was having a relatively poor season by his standards.

I know what you mean ! Kun was having a shocker when Pellegrini had to take him off after 60 minutes against Newcastle at home.

Up until January Aguero had scored in just 3 league games.

The last match I was at, right behind the goal in the family stand. God he was terrible wasn't. And that Brown fella wasn't much better.
Hope they're as bad tomorrow.

there is a shit ton of doping in world football. I'm 100% convinced the top top top players are doped as fuck. And they, no joke, might not even KNOW they are doping. They might guess...but it's not a topic you'll delve into at the top levels. Clearly, Kun and Vinnie need to get on the doping regimen, the cunts.

Maybe the Tinkerman has brought his medical kit and the right contacts from his top team management to the unscrubbed masses now?

Basically it just means that Arsenal and the Rags will start a doping committee and ensure that what the middle class clubs can afford and who they can afford gets banned. Watch this space. Should take less than 12 months for David Gill to institute a doping commission somehow.

Invisible hand, yo.

cheers

There is an explanation - the players are given 2 days off every week so long as they give 100% each game.

Apparently.

No issue with Mahrez winning it. He's been excellent this season. Scores and creates goals, central to Leicester's success this season.

Congrats to him.

Congrats to him.

He doesn't seem to be a massive cunt off the pitch either, from the little I know about him (which is almost nothing) so very glad Mardy didn't win it.
And congratulations to City's Izzy Christiansen for winning the women's award.

Congrats to Mahrez. Well deserved.

As for Agüero a lot of this has to do with the timing of the voting and his own injuries and form not coinciding well with the moment when the voting is likely occurring.

For the past two seasons he has come on strong late in the year. If things continued the way they are I think he would replace Özil given how his form and his team's has dipped.

If you want this problem eliminated they need to do the voting after the season is finished, not as it is happening. In American pro-sport this is how it is, although there really is not much weight given or even am I aware of a player of the year voted by players. The "most valable player" is voted by the media.

The awards are bullshit as is team of the season.

Silva and Aguero never mentioned. The two best players in the league in the last 5 years

Should be voted for at the seasons end, not in February or March. The awards night could be held end of May or early June. How hard can it be to collate and count votes from a few thousand people?

Aguero having never made the team of the year is a farce. If you asked 100 fans in a family fortunes style questionnaire of who they would like their team to have as their forward I reckon 70% would choose Kun.

No, paper is due to be installed next season, to replace the current papyrus process, which in turn replaced the traditional cuneiform clay tablets at the start of the Premier League era.
