End of an era

Reading the board at the moment has me sad as I think we're genuinely at the end of the best era of my lifetime. Not to say a better one isn't coming but think about this.
Right now the following players are all either being discussed as going or most want them gone. Yaya, zaba, silva, nasri, kompany and kolarov.
That right there is a huge part of our trophy haul of the last 5 years or so. Now I doubt they all go in one hit, but that's still crazy to think that within a year or two we may not have any of these players left. Undoubtedly the end or an era in its way.

Bobs bang on its just evolving PBL. Understand where you are coming from though with the thoughts of folks like Zab possibly leaving but it's all moving forward. Reckon because certain players have helped us get some silverware it does kind of feEl like this though.
Moving forward!!!! Good times ahead!

If you stand still you get overtaken. It's always been the case that players leave. It's just previously, players left to better themselves and win pots, whereas now players come to us to better themselves and win pots.
I can't wait to see who we buy in the summer and what Pep will bring to us over the next few years.

Time and tide wait for no man - we're merely moving on to the next stage of the journey.
Onwards and upwards......................

Most successful era in my lifetime so far - definitely.
The best though, not for me. I enjoyed Gillingham/Wembley and winning the division 1 under Keegan a lot more than now, mainly because I loved the players at the time.
Half the people you've mentioned in the op I can't stand. I don't particularly like half our players now. Back then I loved them! Not all, there was the odd one or two I didn't like, but I loved most of them.
Not arsed about seeing the back of most of those bar one or two.

You're getting old Mase.
You'll never feel that way about the squad again.
Have a look at the link I posted in the matchday thread, it'll bring you back to the days when you hero worshipped the players.

Considering you love kola I cannot see how you can't like half that lot. Greatest team we've had in my time and yours.
I realize we're probably starting to attract players for the right reasons, but I'll never again have that feeling of holy shit these guys are coming and it's getting real. Add tevez to that list and I couldn't believe it for 2 or 3 straight years.

Really is the end now. Doubt Yaya, Kompany, Zabba, Kolarov will play for us again. There may be others as well.

I am waiting for the ”emotional” post on Facebook from Kompany.
Anytime now, 1 hour tops.

It is a sad end to Kompany's City career but the concerning factor is there isn't a leader amongst our squad to step up.

Can't blame Kompany for getting injured. Can blame pellers for fucking the team chemistry to bring him back knowing he will get injured again and leave us back at square one.

Can't blame him the first time, maybe the second time.

Problem is, the team that won the first title hasn't been replaced. KdB slots into the side, but no one else. Fernandinho in place of Barry, maybe.
That we haven't got anyone else who is better than them explains why 5 years on we look an old side with major work required.

The most successful sides have their captain playing for the season or at the least have a very good vice captain to step up. Pellegrini, just like all managers need their captain.

This squad has maxed out, they have brought us to the top table with trophies and great performances along with some very dodgy Ionesco along the way, time to say thanks Sunday.

The only player I've felt that close to since I was a kid is Zaba, and I grew up in the 70s. Times are a-changing.

Me too. But there are a bunch of the kids that could potentially get people believing in the team again. You need players that the fans can believe in.
