Has put Celtic 2-0 up - the first a screamer from 25 yards and the second a peach curled into the corner from the edge of the box. And he recently won the Scottish player of the month Can't help but feel we've dropped a bollock by sending him up there for another season. I'd think that Pep would want to work with him as soon as possible

yeah i don't get the "logic" of an 18 month loan tbh with a new manager coming in. If you were the player wouldn't you basically feel like you've been fucked off, put in the shop window and have no future there?
Silly decision. Same for just the season long loan for Denayer, tho his agent's bollox may have facilitated that one, it was i'm sure just a negotiating strategy to try and keep him in the first team with a shout of getting some matches.
Anyway, onwards and upwards. We keep this shit up tho and we'll be as bad as Chelsea and we'll be writing off the next KDB just cuz no one even has a scooby.
cheers

If I remember correctly, Celtic wouldn't take him unless it was a longer deal than the end of the season.
We just need to pay them whatever is necessary to cancel the arrangement and get him back here and learning under Pep.

i know, but why send him then?
It's not like he's Batman fucking gone to learn under the sensei in that fucking hole in the ground or whatever he allegedly did. It's fucking Celtic. Tell them to suck balls and fuck off.
cheers

Couldn't understand the 18 month loan period at the time. It was a very stupid decision. Another season in the wilderness of Scottish football is not what he needs.

I think it depends. If you treat the forum as a single person and only care to merge the negatives, no. If you ask each individual on the forum, yes, I think you'll find that most people think that things are generally going the right way.

It's a shame we can't get him back. Celtic seem very keen to see out the full loan period. I wonder if we could tempt them by offering sterling as a loan swap.

This was a crazy loan move in my opinion, the lad has had experience, and we saw what we did. I could have seen him as the natural cover for Navas.
We must start showing some trust in players who show they have huge potential. I just don't know the thinking about this, and it must stop if we are going to attract top young talent.

Who's decision was it to send him there for a year and a half?

I'm sure we'd have inserted a clause into the contract allowing us to recall him if they appoint a new manager, wouldn't we? I mean, that would have been a right cock up if we didn't.
Seriously, they could appoint Pulis, in which case his career would stagnate or they could go for a brilliant manager with a history or developing youngsters. If we're sending players out for more than a season with no way to recall if we don't like the way the club is going, someone needs to get a grip.

Just saw Blue's post up there ... hopefully we did put language in for a regime change. I want him working with Pep asap.

Interesting theory.
Every club Pulis has been at has risen in the league.
Discuss!

Cancel Pep, get Tony in. We only need a 3 or 4 place rise anyway and we can afford Messi with the increased sales in club merchandise
