Pellers last pre match presser

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Pellers last pre match presser

Postby Wonderwall » Fri May 13, 2016 12:02 pm

Manuel Pellegrini is waiting on the fitness of Aleks Kolarov ahead of his final game in charge of City at Swansea on Sunday. The Chilean will be without skipper Vincent Kompany, Pablo Zabaleta and David Silva, but Kolarov could still be passed fit to take on the in form Swans, and Samir Nasri has been working normally with the squad.

Pellegrini has called for more of the spirit that was on display in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal in the Liberty Stadium clash, but warned against complacency with just a point required to secure fourth place and the final Champions League spot.

He said: "We've been in the Champions League places all season so I hope we can do it with a win this weekend.

"I want to finish playing the way we did against Arsenal. I was disappointed with the way we played against Real Madrid as that's not our team."

Pellegrini added: "The game is very difficult. Maybe after the Arsenal game everyone thought we were eliminated, but now it has flipped around the other way so we must be very careful."

The manager was asked to reflect on his three-season stint as City boss and he declared himself happy with the attacking brand of football he has brought to the fans.

"An important thing is to compare with all the other teams," he reflected. "If you make a summary of the three seasons that I was in charge here, we have always scored more goals."

Asked if he has enjoyed the challenge of England and the Premier League, Pellegrini responded: "Yes, it's the best league in the world, the stadia are always full, it's competitive with around six teams vying for the title."

And of the future at City without him, Pellegrini said: "It's a Club that is growing every year, not just in results. We have another style of play, we are a team that takes more risks and scores a lot of goals.

"I am sure in the future this Club will continue growing."

I bet he isn't.

Feel a little sad that someone who delivered us a 156 goal season as champions and won 2 other pots and got a Champions League semi is leaving amidst so much bitterness from so many fans :( I guess nostalgia isn't what it used to be. He did way better than I thought he would at first and I'm not sure it is entirely his fault that it has fizzled out so badly at the end. Ah well... Onwards and upwards...

At the end of the day we should not be struggling to hold onto 4th spot - that's his fault and is why the majority of fans are at their wits end with him.

I wish him well but I'm happy as fuck he's now going.
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

What I meant was that the speculation then announcement hurt things, injuries hurt a lot too. Partly his fault just not entirely.

He made the announcement and insisted on doing so.

I think it all boils down to Sunday. If we win, in time, people will have a more favourable view of him than they (generally) do now. If we lose, they won't.

I wouldn't trust Nasri on Sunday at all! The guy knows he's leaving at the end of the season and he'd just wonder around the field stinking the place up as a big fuck you to the club. I can see it.

If there is any truth in Kelchi wanting 150 bags a season plus Nasri stropping I think after he leaves we might see some explanation for our season of ups and dons, glad he is leaving, however he looks like he has been dealing with a bunch of cunts in the main.

I have a feeling Nasri won't be anywhere near the squad on Sunday. It's a shame as I would like to see a repeat of his Chelsea performance. Also, the best balance combo up front for me is:
Navas KDB Nasri
Aguero
Without Nasri (at his best) we will need to play either Yaya or Nacho in the middle.

Assume it was the usual not giving anything away?

He is nothing if not consistent.

Yes please to Nasri

Was hoping he'd have made the Arsenil game for the same reason.

Why can City not just tell us what is the craic with Nasri.
