Dead right mate ! read it this a.m. on the way to Hamburg .... Promised the Missus ( don't know why) a week on coastline near Travemunde.

Still Bayern eh ? women in Dirndels eh ? All that naked female flesh in the English gardens when taking my little doggies for a walk eh ?

Strangely enough a new project came up today forcing me to postpone my trip to the Ostsee !

Still overnight in München should be good fun

Ha, I read that in my head to the voice of Paul Whitehouse's "suits you sir"

Made me chortle...

Only a 1200 km one way journey. It's a bloody big country. I might try to arrange a trip for work.

Friend of mine works for the company that puts on the ICC. He told me City is playing in Nashville, Huston, and LA this summer. Huston is against United. Not sure on the other two teams or dates yet.

Guess he didn't give me the inside scope as they just announced it 2 hours.

City v rags - Huston
City v spurs - Nashville
City v real - LA

The other venue I heard the "derby" might be played in is in San Diego, but would be odd given we are playing close by for the next match.

However, if it is in Houston we will have a more travel-heavy summer. Long flight to the West coast of the U.S., then back East (to the Southwest) for a 3-4 hours flight to play United in Houston (2 time zones away), then back to the West coast to play in L.A., then East again to Tennessee (Nashville). Would be a shorter flight back to Manchester from Nashville, compared to San Diego though.

Weather wise, San Diego should be dry-ish heat, similar to L.A., so it might be pleasant. It can still be VERY hot on a bad day (i.e. 30-40c), yet much better in the shade (likely it's a game at night though, which should help).

If the game against Utd is in Houston at least the game will be under a dome and likely air conditioned to be a reasonable temperature. Both venues are unlikely or impossible to be ruined by weather like last summer.

The game against Spurs in Nashville will be the worst for the players. Likely quite hot and humid 30-35c.

I miss the days we used to play the likes of Lincoln. Fond memories of travelling around the UK to random shitholes to watch us play completely meaningless friendlies

I agree.

Get the fact these are nothing more than fund raisers and to raise the profile of the club in these markets but we start the season with travel fatigue. Then we are into the CL very quickly and the games come thick and fast. Then it's the Festive/New Year period of many games in December and January. Is it coincidence that since these types of club tours have been introduced that we have more muscle injuries? All the travelling footballers do these days takes it toll, physically and also mentally.

It's just another nail in the coffin of what football used to be. As with anything where changes have been made, some have changed for the better and some have changed for the worse. My opinion is these tours don't bring anything beneficial to the playing side of the club.

gotta say, im (selfishly) happy. and hopefully the players will be on display, unlike years when they're all away at the Euros or World Cup.

Sane might be the only one missing from the preseason tour. He will most likely be at the Confederations Cup.

That's the match I'm looking at as well. Going to be quite tricky with work but would love a long weekend in Nashville.

What's the pitch like in the summer down there I wonder? Got to be better than China but we've had some very soggy experiences in the US.
