Will he get a testimonial any time soon, or is this reserved for retirement?

What annoys me about him is that he doesn't really step up and be a leader.

He is a smart guy, genuine nice and fair. When Kompany was not around and Zaba also, Yaya took the capt armband, then Joe. In every interview I saw, Joe speaks really good, fluent, knows his stuff, but I can't get around this. If I was a foodballer and I would chose someone to be the captain in my squad, 10 out 10 times I would chose Joe in front of Yaya.

This summer is huge for him. Kompany will get a setback, imho, maybe he will leave, Zaba and Yaya are in the same situation so, I think it is finally time for Joe to really step up. Gather around the team next to him.

I suspect that there will be some major changes to the onfield leadership next season. I think we all know Yaya is gone, but I think Kompany and Zabs might be shown the door as well.

I agree. One of the two and both if Vinnie seems fit enough to sell.

It's time for some fresh blood. If this season showed us anything it showed us that. Nacho basically the only sparkling positive of the season outside of a LC win. Which in hindsight doesn't feel super amazing from thousands of miles away a couple months later, tho I was certainly glad for it.
