I was 13 (thought I was a lot younger!).
I remember going down on the train with another family who were friends of ours. Seems like only yesterday as I remember it vividly, yet I can't remember what I had for breakfast this morning.

Yeah I remember pretty much every detail about the whole weekend too, which like you say is in contrast to a rapidly declining short term memory.

Nice one! Good old Kevin Horlock, I wish he'd been given the send-off he deserved.

I was there.

Flew out from La Manga and staye din that hotel next to Wembley ...fucked if I can remember it but I do remember cheering Uwe Rosler in the bar beforehand...or maybe it was after as I was pissed.

Got a taxi back to Skegness to see my munchen supporting family.

I've seen him at a fair few games when we've been at Wembers recently. Always gets a lot of love from City fans.

Glad to hear it. Always liked him and know he still likes us.

The absolute lowest point in our entire history, saved at the last by Mr. Dickov.

Not sure why we need to keep reminding ourselves to be honest. If I start the 18 19 & 20 years threads now it'll save time!!!

Here's another good video. Goes back way more than 17 years, but this nostalgic thread seems to be the right place:

Obviously it's all CGI though.

I guess it depends which generation you're from. But for me, I never got to see Bell, Lee, and Summerbee, so for me growing up 17 years ago was the first time I'd seen City win anything whatsoever. Growing up surrounded by united fans I had to celebrate that whilst they were celebrating the treble. And I probably celebrated it even more than them. Because it was my club winning something and that's all we had at that time.

So for me I love remembering Gillingham at Wembley and Rovers away on the last day of the season. Because pre-2008 I never thought I'd see City win anything else.

That's the same for me. I was 14 at the time.

I actually remember at the start of that season hoping we'd do well in the Auto Windscreens Shield as we'd get a day out at Wembley! Then we were knocked out in the first round to Mansfield! Ha!

A day that changed the club much more than we could have possibly imagined at the time. Where would we be now if that remarkable comeback had not happened.

I reckon we'd have got promoted the following season. We'd still have been a PL club when the Sheikh rocked up. We will never know but I think we'd have been ok

No chance mate. That team wouldn't have been the same the following season if we'd stayed down.
I would imagine we'd have stayed there similar to Leeds or Sheff Wed.
