Past players - what are they doing now?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Past players - what are they doing now?

Postby PeterParker » Mon May 30, 2016 12:50 pm

Looking at the thread Mase did about the 17 years anniversary since that game with Gilligham, I was thinking where are right now some of our players. What are they doing?

I will start. Georgi Kinkladze is somewhat of a agent. I am saying somewhat because from what I understood, he is working with football agents, but not as a scout.

Glauber Berti has a night club in Rio Preto and plays for a amateur football team in Brazil. What is Richard Edghill doing? Or Danny Allsopp?

Jim Whitley is a painter, after serving time for armed robbery. Jeff was a cokehead, no idea if he still is

Edghill also posts semi-regularly on a City fans' Facebook page. I've noticed a few 'likes' by him on there, and I'm pretty sure it's a kosher account.

Lee Crooks went into the armed forces, Andy Morrison is a Manager in Wales & I think Tony Vaughan is a Car Salesman in Ipswich but that could have been a wacky dream I had.

To be fair, Jim Whitley's robbery conviction was before he broke into the City first team. Jeff tours the UK as Sammy Davis Jr in a Rat Pack tribute act.

I've seen Richard Edghill having a kickabout with his mates a few times at the odd indoor football centre. (I saw Paul Scholes at one such place the other week as well, as it happens, but wasn't arsed.)

Last I heard was he had a waste recycling business in Eccles that went into liquidation at the beginning of last year.

Talking of Scholes I was parked 2 cars away from him at the Royal Oldham Hospital about 12 months ago when I was visiting my Mum in Hospital.

To be fair, you don't hear of many professional footballers going on to better things after retirement...
