I don't think Hoddle would be a good choice; which is odd, because in a previous life I did.

from the list of possibles shown on ITV the only one I would like to see given a go would be Eddie Howe.

After listening to Hoddle through this tournament I wouldn't want him anywhere near the team. Please don't let it be Gareth Southgate

How the hell is Southgate in the frame, and the likes of Peter Reid backing it?

They were mentioning Southgate in the studio after the match too - he's already institutionalised as far as the FA goes, which means more of the same inexplicable squad selections to coincide with ad campaigns after the match.

So he'll be the 'Yes man' to lead the FAs campaign to force certain clubs players into the starting line up.

Drinkwater, a name in case.

Quit fucking around and get Big Fat Sam in there FFS.

You know it makes sense...stop acting like you're European. You're not. Get a proper English football cunt running the show and get on with it.

His style of footy is in vogue. If he was Argentinian he'd have had the job by now.

cheers

Yup. He's also one of the only people mentioned who'd bring the 2 things that woy has none of: tactics and passion (about 95% of a coach's job).

Someone wholl get the most out of the players we have. That in itself might not be good enough to satisfy those who think england can win tournaments, but we have to start somewhere. Qualifying, then being hard to beat, with players knowing whats expected within the team framework and working for each other. This campaign turned out far worse than even a cynic like me could have imagined. Hodgson seemed to lose sight of what he wanted as things went on rather than gain some sort of control, momentum. Some might say it doesnt matter but at this level you cannot just turn up and play chopping and changing every game with no direction. It doesnt matter how good you are, how many good players you have, or how few, the manager must be clear in what he wants. We have seen a few instances in this tournament where the manager has earned his salary by getting the max from his players..it isnt beyond us if we tried it...but If the FA really are influencing selection and commercial interests are taking priority here then they deserve all the failure they get.

Well nobody really wants to go to the Russian World Cup so he's a certainty to fail to qualify.
