Id say Allardyce. Surely he would find a system and stick to it. Whatever it is. Would we be hard to beat? Thats all we can be right now because the basics were not there last night.

The England manager is I am sorry to say just a figure head these days and has been since selling shirts became the be all and end all.England will never win anything whilst the accountants run the show and that is a sad FACT.

I think England should appoint some super hot women as the coaching staff. They could not do any worse and at least there would be something beautiful in English football no matter what result

I might even watch the press conferences which atm are completely pointless

Why? He's never been a good manager.

Hoddle would be in the same line as woy and mclaren. Managers only "respected" because they've somehow stuck around for years, but no brains, passion, or charisma.

Big Sam has tactics (that fit England's under-skilled players), fire to get the players actually trying, and embodies England more than any other manager I can think of. Like a British Conte or Simeone.

Going out v Iceland might actually turn out to be the best thing that's happened to England in the last decade. Let's assume we had scraped through and probably then got narrowly beat by France. It would have been all "oh how unlucky. What a great young team we have and it bodes well for the future and with a bit more luck we might have gone a bit further"

Utter crap. We were dogshit at the last World Cup and we were dogshit at this championship. A win yesterday would've only papered over the cracks and masked that. Sometimes a bad defeat is the wake up call a team needs.

The FA now have the chance to get a decent appointment in. Someone who can motivate our prima donnas and get the best out of them. Someone who can adapt to tournament play and help England get better as the tournament progresses. Someone who isn't afraid to drop the big names if they don't perform and actually play players who are in form, in their positions where they are in form for their respective clubs and not to pick players based on who they play their club football for. I know this is as unlikely as spotting a unicorn strolling down Deansgate but it is what it is. The clueless muppets at the FA will likely appoint Southgate because he knows "the system" from managing the under 21s!

I despise Steve Bruce, but I'd sooner have him over Southgate.

I know we will probably not go with a foreign coach but Mancini would be a decent shout for me. He has the abrasive qualities to not let players rule the roost and he would make us more resilient. Big Fat Sam would also fall into this catagory and though he would not be first on the list, he is worth consideration as he has a lot of experience. Eddie Howe would be another who it would be worth a punt on for my money.

However I expect another safe, ultimately underwhelming appointment and another five years lost

I think some people genuinely don't know he's already had a go. Bring back Eileen!

I don't think Hoddle would be a good choice; which is odd, because in a previous life I did.

The fa need to butt out after appointing the next manager and leave them to the job of building a cohesive squad
