Good article.

Good player with a good attitude. Shame for him that the three at the back experiments over the years didn't work as I reckon wing back would've got the best out of him. Surely the coming season will be his swansong.

Hopefully they've considered that.

Maybe we'll play a 2-6-2?

Hasn't Pep said he would like to play with ten midfielders? Full backs are so 20th century

I'd much prefer a 2-5-3 formation NB; I do like three up front. :P :P :P

It seems a long time ago now, since the early games of this last season, when he seemed to be our new centre back 'find'.

Id rather him centre half than Otamendi....something i never thought i would write.

He def has a role, i think hes a good attacking full back as a back up, i thought pep should have utilised him more left back last season, clichy was defensively as bad as him last year but at least kolarov offers us something in attack.

His switch of play from defence out to sterling last season worked well, Peps system of overloading one side of the pitch before switching it requires someone with a decent ping exactly like Kolarov, Otamendi or Stones arent capable of this.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Except that they fail to mention how many matches each played to accumulate those statistics, which might put it into context a bit better.

Wants to go I assume as Dzeko is there.

Bit silly of Pep to say that though. Stinks of Moyes at Everton when Lescott was there. I guess we can't moan when Nolito gives an interview in a few weeks saying what a bellend Pep is.

Assume we aren't going to give him away. £10/15m should sweeten the move.

Been a solid if unspectacular player for us this last seven years. All in all he has done well and if he does go to Roma then I wish him the best

Not comparable in the tiniest way to the poison bubbling out of Gollum when Lescott wanted away mase. If you listen to the full interview he pays a generous tribute to Kola and seems very disappointed to lose him - although that might be a touch OTT.

Mixed feelings on it purely becsuse it t meams we will now have to get centre back cover as well as two left backs and another right back.
Still a hell if a lot of work to do on that front.
With the current set up at the moment we do not have a championship wining defence.
