It's a strange one. Sky actually said that Guardiola fears Sane will be out for months...... as if it was a direct quote from him. That said, Sky have also just said that if we pay £57m for Laporte we 'will smash the world record fee for a defender.'

Mendy tweeted a picture of Sane and Jesus in the treatment room. Sane’s legs were covered up and he looked pretty miserable. Hopefully the news isn’t too bad. Nothing on his Twitter yet.

Starts on wednesday then .

City confirm Sane has ankle ligament damage. No time specified for his return. At least two to three weeks surely. Could be more. He’s so important to us in the transition. A real blow although Bernardo is showing real quality now. I guess Sterling will play on the left and link up with Silva on Wednesday with Bernardo on the Right?

Ankle ligament damage, no indication of how long he'll be out yet. Doesn't sound great.
