All that waiting and I've missed it, been in meetings all morning.

Wearing Rekik's old shirt eh?

The previous 'Denayer'. Whatever happened to him?

Who speaks ze German in the team? Vinny, Pep...Ilkay obvs...does KDB i'd imagine?

Languages spoken is a big deal to me in the modern age...

English, Yorkie Fabs English (i've no idea half the time), French, German, Spanish, Portugeezer. I'm sure Pablo also speaky speaky Italiano iirc.

Good news from this math is that between English, French, German and Spanish we've got everyone covered and everyone has a mate, or two, that speaks their native tongue and another language.

I've omitted any Balkan tongue as i hope we're balkan free come Sep1.

cheers

M

Note: I'd forgotten a Nacho...as he's Nigerian no one speaks his native tongue other than that other academy lad we have who we've farmed out i believe.

Nigeria's national language is English, which Nacho can speak fine (don't let the accent fool you). I'd assume he grew up with English in schools and Igbo at home.

The other major languages in Nigeria are Hausa, Yoruba, Ibibio, Edo, Fulfulde, and Kanuri.

Yes, but I assume that since Nacho is from Imo, his family speak Igbo.

Seems like a nice kid, but one of the most boring "first interviews" I can remember. Maybe it's the German in him or that he's just not fazed by much in general

Aladdin Zarnay.

Doesn't have the same ring to it, I'm afraid.

Not sure where the r came from and the -ay is a bit mucho americano, but it's not too far off. The Germans pronounce a leading s like this, but the French don't. Take your pick.

German pronunciation: [ˈlɛ.ʀɔʏ ˈza.nɛː] Audio
French pronunciation: [lə.ʁwa sa.ne]

It will be interesting to see how pep uses him. He may well throw him in from right from the off, but it probably would be better to blood him slowly, he's still fairly young.

Good addition to the ranks. Sterling will need to pull his finger out now which is no bad thing.

Are you calling people weirdos because you didn't know what language people speak in the most populated country in Africa? Sounds like a real Twatburger move...
