Where are Mangs/Otter?

Where are Mangs/Otter?

Postby Nick » Sun Aug 07, 2016 7:48 pm

Where the hell are these two?

Does Otter have a secret injury?

Does Mangala? Is he not fancied? Sagna was back in action and Denayer/Tosin were the only CB's in the squad.

Big task for pep?

Rumours that Otter is in Spain with a medical issue, whilst another rumour says he broke his leg prior to the St Johnstone game. Mangala has apparently just returned to training, but why? Despite injury problems the French manager refused to start him in the Euros, so no need for him to rest. Mangala may be on his way but who would take him....even on a free?

Other thoughts - Hart is picking up where he left off...

I honestly wonder how fans will feel if Pep's philosophy takes off, and we go for 1-0, 2-0's at home. Our ground has been shite for the last few years if were not 6-0 up after 40 mins in all games bar the top few sides.

Winning, I'm sue people will be happy. Surely we wouldn't crucify a manager such as Pep?

Read the matchday thread on Bluemoon ;). To be fair pellers would be getting annihilated playing kolorov at LCB every minute of pre season, fern2 completing the slowest CB pair in history. Also true that all the money we've spent, we've got Nolito actually making a difference currently. We need some day1 players in positions we've been crying out for years - CM and CB/Full back.

Heard the otter leg break rumour - he must have something if he didn't travel.

Mangs makes no sense - more likely that pep doesn't fancy him - as sagna played in the final and played 45 mins today.

I would much rather give Mangs a chance. I see a player.

I really can't believe we're looking to bin mangala off. Like Nick said, I see a player in there as well. He's still pretty young and he's a unit with pace. He struggled with the constant changing of the back 4 last year, either through accommodating Vinny each time he returned from injury, or through rotation. I'm not giving up on him yet, I still think with some consistency and confidence he should come good.

Ota is in the Qualifier squad, so must be around somewhere.

Mangala is no good with the ball at his feet. He is going on the bus with Bony and Nasri.

Nice guy, but he had 2 years to take away doubt over his position. Had some great games, but many stinkers. And unfortunately for him, consistency is most valued in defense.

I think he'll do very well in a different setup where they need more of a pure athlete and less of a footballer.

He would be great at Leicester. He is not the kind of half way line defender that we need, neither in his quality on the ball or in terms of his awareness/positioning.

He's in a video posted on the city today, training, so I think the story about the broken leg can be discarded. Couldn't post the link because I don't like computers.

The Otter is the one rumoured to have a broken leg. I know Mangala is training but no sign of the Otter. I'm surprised if Otter is in the vid?

You can only tell he's there by his tattooed legs
