He did well Mase but I have to give it to Raheem for most improved.

Sterling wasn't playing 'out of position' though mate.

Went for Stones. Primarily because he only joined us a couple of days ago and slotted in on his debut as if he'd been around as long as the others. Comfortable, unflustered and calm. Attributes you perhaps didn't associate with our centre halves last year

Kolarov by a mile for me. Clichy was good too, as usual.

Kolarov for me. He was immense at the end. Like a magnet to their aerial bombardment I am gobsmacked as I wasn't happy when I saw the line up. Well done aleks

That's very true. Not sure I'd trust Kola there against every team, but give him his due. He may be the one that Pep surprises us with this year.

I liked when Kolarov made a foul and was about to get booked and he ran from the ref. The ref blew his whistle and told him to go over to him and Kolarov turned round and waved for the ref to come to him!

All the outfield back five were good, (defence plus F1), and I was tempted by the McNair option, but went for Kolarov in the end.

Our weakness today was all about the final pass and the final third. We dominated the game as Pep loves to do and even tho Sunderland didnt really come to attack our best performers were the deeper players.

Stones looked the business as others have said calm and assured and made for a Pep team. But alongside him was Kolarov , who surely is the big suprise from Pep so far, and he was excellent. My MotM by a short head.

Good to see the injection of confidence working for Raheem. All we need now is for the key attacking players ( Kun, Silva and KDB) to fire properly and we will be quality

All game I was looking for those so called mistakes in Stone's game but got so frustrated that he didnt make them.

Got to be Willy for me. Thought everybody played to standard but Willy stood out for his sweeping performance.

Sterling gets my vote.

Stones, Kolarov, Clichy, Fern and Willy were my stand outs along with Raheem. Jesus was also very good when he came on, but played too short to be in contention.

Am going for Stones who seems to fit hand in glove for Pep's system.

The attack (bar Sterling) let us down. Nolito, KDB, Silva and Kun were all disappointing.
