Squad of 21 have travelled to Bucharest. Adarabayio Angelino and Gunn have travelled. So has Otamendi. No Toure.

Denayer not in the squad either. Surely on his way. We really need to shift the likes of Nasri Toure and Denayer. It isn't good for team morale to have them hanging around. Bony needs to go too but his attitude doesn't seem as poor. Joe is off too pretty obviously but he'll want to go.

Having watched us on Saturday I have deep concerns about this game because we're not settled into our new system and we have many key players not fully fit. I fear that we might be given a lesson and, while we'll learn from it, it could be adverse to our getting through to the group stages as they'll park the bus at ours if they get a couple at their end. I hope not but that's how I see it.
On a more positive note; if we do go out before the group stages then I'm convinced that without the pressure of mid-week footie, and with Pep having more space to drill the squad, we'll be Premier League champions and add a domestic cup or two to that tally.
In short; I'll watch with interest and hope but will not be downhearted if we don't come out on top because that will open the door wide to a domestic clean sweep.
We're at our weakest in these first early weeks but I smell honours on the wind - come on you Blues!

Took a while to find this - not on the OS of course

CITY SQUAD: Hart, Caballero, Gunn, Sagna, Zabaleta, Otamendi, Stones, Adarabioyo, Kolarov, Clichy, Angelino, Fernando, Fernandinho, Delph, Nolito, Silva, Navas, De Bruyne, Sterling, Iheanacho, Aguero

Obviously Bony, Mangala and Nasri were left out of the submitted squad. looks like there's been some movememt of some sort on the Yaya and Denayer fronts since that was submitted

Looks like Pep sees Angelino slightly higher up the pecking order than Maffeo who's not travelling to Bucharest.

If we lose the qualifier we drop into Thursday night footy. Unfortunately.

Could be that we have 2 acceptable right backs whereas Pep can't understand how Kolarov ever played left back?

Must say I do like Angelino in midfield, but not as a defender. Which should make him ideal for this system.

Fair point but I suppose Angelino could be better suited to a wide left midfield role rather a narrow midfield one as Doug suggests. Still he's got the technical skill to play midfield, no doubt. It will be interesting to see whether Clichy, Kolarov and Angelino make the PL squad this season. That would bear out your hypothesis.

Kolarov could be the 4th CB :-)

Stones, Ota, Komps/Tosin, Kolarov

Indeed. It would be an incredible turn of events but Pep was raving about Kolarov's performance there against Sunderland.

I would whack out the strongest line up we can and go into the home leg hopefully with a couple of goals advantage. Lack of first team pre season matches and learning a new system I reckon we need our first team.

Is this on tv or a Joan???????

Cheers

Probably find it's owned and run by Kolarov and his brothers
