Dalian Atkinson has died after being tasered by police.

Only posting here due to the fact he was on loan for us once, was fat and shite. But rip none the less.

He wasn't a bad player, but you could tell his time in Turkey ruined him. I remember being dead excited about him coming, think it was only a one month loan. But God he was shit.

No, he beat about six players on a mazy run before chipping the keeper from edge of the box. Loads of talent which sadly for him wasn't realised.

Awful news. Was a big fan of his when he played for Villa.
He was amazing the season that Villa were going for the league against the scum and they probably would have won it if he was wasn't injured for the last few games.

I remember when he played for City he was finished and dog slow. A total shadow of his former self.

Weird comment from FB and not one I'd expect to see from him. Like you say, drink or drugs could well have played a part. No one is getting hurt if you do what the police ask. I very much doubt the first port of call was to get the taser out.

Well the IPCC are investigating amid reports from an eyewitness that Police were kicking him before and after tasering him.


Paula Quinn, who lives in a first-floor flat near the Atkinson property in Trench, said: "They were shouting and kicking so much all I could hear were the boots hitting him.

"And then the officer who released the Taser stepped back while the other officer still continued to kick and then I could hear him shout to the other officer that was still kicking, 'Back off, back off, back off.'

"And then the officer with the Taser asked the gentleman to put his hands behind his back and did so probably two or three times and reactivated the Taser another four or five times after that. "


However we may consider peoples reactions to be, the bottom line is that there has been a tragic loss of life under questionable circumstances.
