Lawro and degenerate Predictions v West Ham (H)

Lawro stays his predictable boring self and Merson is trying to sound normal, but we can all see through his bullshit. I still cannot believes he picks up a wage for this tripe

Lawro's opponent for this week's Premier League fixtures is four-time Olympic cycling champion Laura Trott.
Trott is a Tottenham fan and told BBC Sport: "My mum and dad support Spurs but my sister supported Arsenal because my granddad was a Gunners fan.
"You know how it is with siblings - I just chose the team my sister didn't like."

It is a case of so far, so good for Pep Guardiola and Manchester City, who are safely into the group stage of the Champions League and have won both Premier League games so far.

It is brave of Guardiola to let Joe Hart leave but my worry for City is up front. Wilfried Bony has been linked with West Ham and, if they let him go, they are short of cover in attack.

If anything happens to Sergio Aguero, that only leaves Kelechi Iheanacho to lead the line - and he is a doubt himself after picking up an injury against Steaua Bucharest.

I still fancy City to win this one, though.

West Ham have been hit by a few injuries and were pretty ordinary for long spells against Bournemouth last week, although the most important thing for them was winning the game.

Lawro's prediction: 2-0

Laura's prediction: 1-0

West Ham fell over the line in their first league game at home and City haven't really done anything wrong yet. They won well at Stoke and I think they will be a bit more efficient this season.

West Ham have a tricky game on Thursday which could take a bit out of them. Also, you can't work on team shape as much with a Thursday game so they won't have as much time to prepare as City.

I didn't see too much change in City's first game against Sunderland but since then they have scored four and five, so you can't really complain. Pep Guardiola is a winner and he gets teams going. I said at the start of the season it's out of City, Manchester United and Chelsea and I can't see any different.

PAUL PREDICTS: 2-0 (Sky Bet odds 13/2)

Couple of 2-0s. Will take that.

To be honest DC isn't wrong with his assessment. We weren't great v Sunderland and we've racked up the goals since and no club likes Thursday night football. What was that rags.....it's a great competition. Fuck off

Merson probably gets enormous wages especially from Sky. Keeps the London gambling houses and other less licenced establishments going I suppose

I always like a Lawro 2-0, it's a good omen, but all that stuff about our striker shortage if Aguero is injured and we sell Bony is irrelevant to this game as neither has happened yet.
