CL changes

Anyone know any detail around the club coefficient changes being introduced? Presumably it would work against us being in pot 2 if we don't win the league?

The top four clubs from the four top-ranked national associations will now qualify automatically for the group stage of the UEFA Champions League. - That's 16 places automatically taken up, plus more from other countries, meaning less space for clubs from the qualifying rounds
The full details of the access list for both competitions will be finalised by the end of the year.
A new system for the club coefficients: clubs will be judged on their own records (deletion of the country share for individual club coefficient unless that coefficient is lower than 20% of the association's coefficient). - This will negatively affect clubs from countries with 'powerful' leagues.
Historical success in the competition will also be acknowledged in coefficient calculation (points for previous European titles with a weighted system for UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League titles) - This is to provide protection for the old school. Interesting that Cup Winners' Cup isn't included in this system.
A new four-pillar financial distribution system (starting fee, performance in the competition, individual club coefficient and market pool) will see sporting performances better rewarded, while market pool share will decrease. - Clubs with higher coefficients will receive more money

What a pile of shite, talk about blatantly trying to create a european superleague to stop the clubs forming their own. I long for the days when someone with an ounce of common sense gets to be the key decision maker in UEFA and return european competition to its rightful place

European Cup - League Champions Only and knockout comp
UeFA Cup - Placed teams 2,3,4
Cup Winners Cup - FA Cup Winners

I really dislike the whole Champions league format. Its like the XFactor or Big Brother, at first when ist starts, you want to see whats its all about as its a novelty but now its ran its course and I hate the format of all of them and they are probably all fixed!

Previous competition winners. How long before the likes of Milan (7 times winners) and dippers (5 times winners) get in by the back door on some pretext of improved coefficient, despite them being poor currently in their respective leagues.

A farce and a charade. I hope the booing of the anthem increases

Coefficient should just be
100% of last season,
80% of season before,
60% of season before that,
40% of season before that, and
20% of season before that.

= reward for most recent performances.

Or do away with it and draw random balls out of the hat. Let the chips fall as they say.

Will never happen I know but you live in hope

How about teams are put in pots based on league position. And leagues are ranked based on their countries position in the most recent Euros?

Probably a horrible idea but its something...

We all know it's a piss-take and none of the Corrupt cunts will change it in any way just to give the fans what they want. I'm not just talking about UEFA here, they are just the puppet, the real instigators are the clubs who manipulate the system to suit their own means.

I do, however, feel it's time we just get on with it and ditch the contempt we show them during their National Anthem. Put some flags up and sing our own song, showing the team on the pitch that we are behind them 100%. At the moment they look uncomfortable when the Booing starts which can't help them on the pitch. Having a positive approach may just give them that start that takes us all the way and by winning it, that is the way to shove it back up their arses!
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".
