10000% this. Who the fuck came up with these rules?

I don't think it is a rule, the only rule is for not showing the sponsor when they score.

Ref probably pissed as he has lost control of the game.

Brilliant to see us win again today and show some character. Really pleased to see our best 11 out there too. Hated the way we have rested players prior to chumps league games in recent seasons.

Not at our fluid best today but we got another three goals. Ten wins on the spin as well. Roll on the next game. Formation looked a little off balance today, but maybe Pep wanted to just tweak things to keep the opposition guessing and to try something new. Possibly a game we wouldn't have won last season so all credit to the boys this afternoon

All that needs to be said.

Didn't see or hear the game (got in late today) but did we use the inverted full-back system ??

The two central mids dropped a little deeper with the two fullbacks one on either side of them when Swansea had the ball, giving us a screen of four ahead of our central defenders - when we were in possession the central mids moved up with the play to support the attacks and the fullbacks moved inside to screen the cbs (but still ahead of them). To be honest we could have used Zabs instead of Sagna and had him providing some width on the right but Pep sorted things out in the second half.

Thanks for that big D.

Sounds fascinating and you did well to analyse it, during the heat of the game.

That Pep is certainly a "one-off" in the tactics Department.

Anyone else notice the foul on Kolarov leading to their goal? Barged him and didn't make an effort to win the header!

Yes.

I also noticed a very poor ref again - We get cheap yellows for innocuous stuff. It's the only way to try and hold us back.

I am glad I'm not the only one who thought it was a foul.

I said the same thing when they showed it on MoTD - he gets barged to the floor just after the header. Clear foul.

It was more annoying than just not being given the foul for the barge, it also led to Kolarov getting up off the deck thus playing the spanish feller onside. Poor bit of refereeing.

Have to say though that Swansea looked ok, certainly not in as dire straights as the pundits were making out. I think they could have a decent season if they play like that, they looked slick going forwards

I have two questions - just wondering.

1.
Saw Sterling's goal on TV - it was fantastic.
But - should he have passed to Kun?
On TV it looked like Kun was in on goal if he had got the pass?

2. If the above is correct i.e. the odds on Kun scoring were higher so Sterling should have passed to him
What will be the advise to Sterling from the coaching staff - for future reference?
Pass or have the confidence to go it alone.

If the above questions are silly just ignore them please.
