Knee jerk thread, last season deja vu?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Pep made a mistake playing kolarov at centre back instead of stones, although the whole back 4 had a mare. He'll learn from this. Let's not forget he said he didn't expect the squad to take his style of play on as quickly as they have. Spuds away will be a tough game but they won't be looking forward to it either. We have a lot to improve on as Pep keeps saying and we will

Last season when we won the first 5 league games, I thought "this is amazing, we're playing out of our skin."

This season it feels like this is actually our level and not just form. Of course, I could be wrong and how we react this weekend will give us a better picture.

Barca played shit first half against MG and only scraped through 2-1 against a team we played off the park and won 4-0

Last night was a blimp , pep would have leant a great deal from last nights players performances -

We will play out of our skin against spurs - watch this space !

This thread is just the old typical city-itus.

Understandable mind you.

There is every reason for a little bit of concern, a little bit. The high press can we keep at it all season long. It is very difficult to play consistently like that every 3 - 4 days. Just look at last night, we didn't reach that level.
Gundogan needs time to settle. In the meantime I hope Dhino stays fit, cause without him were in a little bother.

Two fairly average performances in a row with a few really big games coming up. Will be interesting to see how we react but I don't expect a repeat of last season's malaise. Pep will learn more from the last two than the previous nine

Not concerned at all. We are learning so even a defeat, as long as it's not humiliating, is something to build on.

I think our start has made the expectation too great but still, I think we have something special to look forward too.

That's better, a good old knee jerk thread, I miss them.

TBH, we're going to be shit now and then, difference is previously we'd have bottled it and lost that.

I think Pep came here for exactly the challenges we will face. He will relish finding solutions for them. If he'd wanted a procession to the title after five games, he could have stayed out.

not starting with stones and leaving aguero on when nacho has a great track record of coming off the bench to score felt a little pellegrini-esque

a tough away trimp to spurs will be a test

It was only over-confidence that could trip us up at Spurs and there's no chance of that happening now. I feel extremely confident about this game.

This is the PL you know mate. I'm not sure how anybody could be 'extremely' confident going up against the only other team not have lost a game thus season, on their own patch, with the officials we have?

Whichever way I think of it, there's so many outcomes that it's impossible to have any certainty in this game. Even my gut feeling keeps fluctuating between a win and being shafted.

In my mind it's a great test of how far the squad has come. If we can go and play well without nolito and KDB away at Spurs after taking a hit to out confidence this week then things are really going great. If we get ran off the park then it's still very much a work in progress, which it is anyway, but how far along are we.
Tracking back is overrated.
