No stand outs today. I gave my vote to Silva, who I thought put in a good shift.

Clichy played well apart from his effort for their goal

I'm not sure anyone deserves it so I haven't voted yet. Sane is the closest but in the end it just didn't quite happen for him

The wanker that constantly wasted time and pretended to get elbowed. Nah you're okay.

Merlin was trying to create all game again , he just needs to put that sweet left foot through it when he is on the edge of the box!

Thought Sterling and Sane were really good.

Interesting comments about Sane. I actually thought he was quite poor. sadly I didn't get into see the game till 3.25 but from then I thought he was very ineffective. Worked hard enough, won the ball back well a good few times but on the ball in the final third I don't recall him doing anything of note. Sterling on the other side at least was trying something most of the time even if his crosses didn't quite find a home.

Silva for me and if the rest had been at his level we would have won easily.

I don't understand why Pep won't swap wings for himself and Sterling. Especially as Nacho attacks the six yard area and front post.
We would get more crosses in if they were on their stronger foot.
I actually thought that team selection would have been ideal after a goal up.
Not ideal for breaking down a ten man defence though. But we had our chance and failed to make the afternoon easy for ourselves.
Still, Sane didn't play bad. The team didn't either. Just need to take our chances to make things easier.

He started brilliantly, he had Oviedo beaten all ends up, got in behind him a couple of times and put in decent crosses. Linked up very well with DeBruyne too but then DeBruyne was switched with Silva and Sane faded from there.

Sane for me, but I'd not argue strongly against silva either. KDB made an obvious difference to our game but then missed. Bloody pen. This game is actually very tough to call. Sterling was on his way then got done with a nasty one and went into his shell for 20 before coming back out to play. Weird game.

this one was very difficult but in the end I chose Sane (over Silvva) just because it's been ages since we have last had a player who actually takes on defenders on 1v1 situations.

Adam Johnson I believe was the last one I can remember.
