Ok, this keeps showing up. First from Sherwood, now from ”sources”
Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick is set to join arch rivals Manchester City in January, according to stunning claims from Tim Sherwood.
Carrick, 35, signed a new one-year deal with the Red Devils in the summer but has made just two starts under Jose Mourinho this term.
The veteran midfielder has been at Old Trafford for a decade but is yet to start a league fixture this season amid increasing competition in midfield from the likes of Paul Pogba.
Manchester City spent big on IIkay Gundogan in the summer but former Tottenham boss Sherwood has bizarrely claimed Carrick will end up at the Etihad in January.
‘Man City are crying out for a Michael Carrick. They play with Fernando or Fernandinho in there. They are good at what they do but they can’t do what he can do. They can’t link the play like Michael Carrick.
‘When Pep Guardiola was at Barcelona, he had Sergio Busquets doing that. He had Xabi Alonso doing that at Bayern Munich.
‘Michael Carrick is a replica of them players and if Man United don’t want him, Man City will buy him in January.’

Men in white coats for Sherwood I think. If Busquets was as slow as Carrick he certainliy wouldn't be playing for Barca. You'd think Sherwood may have noticed that Pep likes quick, sharp people who can pass.

it's just an opinion from Timothy the world renowned manager and tactician. Treat it with the toilet talk that it deserves.

The reality is that Carrick is the best sitting midfielder Utd have even though he is 50 years old and slow. Not a chance I would have thought of Pep being interested for reasons already stated

Maybe it's Ashley Westwood we should be after. Timmy when he was the gaffer at Villa
“I will be very surprised if Ashley doesn’t play for England this season. He’s as good as that.
“He’s probably the single-most consistent player I have had at the club since I arrived.
“He’s very much in the Michael Carrick-mould.
“Michael is not getting any younger. I am not sure they have found a replacement for him yet.
“I think Ashley has got every chance. If he keeps on with his consistency – and the level of his performances – I am sure it won’t be too far around the corner.
“That would be great news for all of us. And he’s earned the right.”

A few years ago he would have been a Pep type of Player as said Alonso, Busquetes, Even putting Lham in there to keep the ball moving and teams penned in. Carrick 100% rule out No I would not, this is Pep, he went after Dortmund players without a second thought.

Well may you ask.
He was last seen being bundled into the back of a van by some men in white coats.
