Not once.

However, you made a huge point that the title of this thread was our biggest problem.

And now you look a right cunt who doesn't know what he's talking about.

Stick to starting official match threads.

You're completely out of your depth here.

no, you summarised those as being our issues.
i have consistently said that it just looks like the players are just 'doing a job' and are playing with no passion and aren'te taking responsibility...they just simply follow orders.
it's boring and was very interesting to see in last night's match thread that others are starting to feel the same

I'm not really up to date on the beef going on here Nige, but I was one of the ones disappointed in last nights efforts.
I don't really see it as a malaise or an ongoing problem though.
I think most of us have seen enough this year to realise there is s definite plan in place and we do not look aimless.
We achieved our goal last night but it's not what I like to watch.
As I said to Beefy last night, I'll get over it.
If it means we rest players and go out and turn over Chelsea, like I know this team is capable of, then I'll get over it very quickly.

This is a transition year and we have by and large, the same players about the squad as last year. We are actually looking a lot better than I predicted at the start of the season.
I'm very happy to be at the top of the league, very much in the mix, while all this changing of tactics/culture/learning is going on.
We are definitely off the boil but I am not worried as such. Frustrated at times, but I think that has more to do with expectancy and appreciation of our potential, than any form of pessimism about our future, on my part.

The problem we have is other teams nullifying tactics. We need to find a way through the park the bus merchants. If we spank 5 or 6 past teams who try to employ this tactic in quick succession it will make other managers rethink their tactics.

Find that early goal.in the first 10 minutes and we are going to get teams to change their game plan. Otherwise it's going to be a frustrating watch from the terraces. Barca came at us and look at how we dismantled them in the second half. Not many teams will go toe to toe. We need to find our own solution.

Agree. And I think this is what Liverpool do in the opening 20 minutes of a game. They start at a hundred miles an hour.
With most teams they manage to get that goal or two which totally changes the dynamic of the game and makes things easy for them.
When they don't score early they begin to look as toothless as we have, on occasions.
I think we fail to score early enough in most games, but always have a mistake in us to gift a goal. This makes things even more difficult when a team can then counter attack for the rest of the game.

I think we have improved on last year, despite all the doom and gloom.
The problem a lot of us have is that the potential is obvious but there's the frustration of seeing us gift goals that have cost points and made our games more difficult than they should be.
It wouldn't be as much a problem if we were scoring freely, but at the moment that is not happening.
I do think we will improve now that the qualifiers are out of the way and hopefully some energy will be injected into our league performances.

Excellent once again today, particularly in the second half.

No complaints at all on this front.

Yes. Once again.

Our application, effort and workrate has been fantastic for every game except for spurs and the first half v Southampton.

And so it was... once again.

You made out as if we haven't played well at all this season. Give your head a wobble it takes time for players and a new manager to settle in. Not saying we have the perfect squad yet, but he will get there. Happy xmas :)

Funnily enough NT I just watched an Arsenal post game video where the fan was saying all the stuff you do.

Every team should be ten points clear according to their fans.

did he say something like this?

The vast majority of them are far too precious to understand that you can't be nice and win. They don't understand that the referee being against you doesn't mean you don't try. They don't understand that wearing the Arsenal shirt is an honor and should be treated as such. They don't understand that being on huge wages doesn't mean the work is done. As talented as those early Wenger teams were they were also ruthless and cynical bastards. There were no passengers in those sides. There were 11 leaders on the pitch because you had to be a leader or risk being savaged by your teammates. Pick any XI from 97-2004 and find me the player who went hiding in big matches. You can't. They were all determined and accountable.

that's a quote from an arsenal forum where the vast majority are sick of performances like the one they put in yesterday

do you want us to turn into another arsenal or do you want us to kick on? i think we have most of the talent to do so, just not the mindset. at the moment anyway. set your standards higher.

And if the club/team doesn't meet your standards you're in for a tough time.

Get out now while you have shreds of your sanity left.

Yes, sounds like a daily mail reporter watched the same telly programme as us, then got paid for pretending it's journalism.
