Brazilian team plane crash

Postby nottsblue » Tue Nov 29, 2016 6:54 am

A plane carrying the Chapecoense football team on their way to Columbia to play in Wednesdays final of the Sudamerica football trophy has crashed. Unclear if there are any survivors. Dreadfull news. This is on a par with the Superga tragedy which wiped out Torino in 1949. RIP to those who perished

Reported (half an hour ago) by BBC World Service that plane was believed to have run out of fuel near airport and did not catch fire on impact. Hope for survivors but terrain difficult to access following heavy rain.

They first reported it this morning as 'a Brazilian team' so I thought it might be Jesus for a minute.

The images from above are with the players that did not make the squad for that game. They are alone in the dressing room. Heartbreaking, just heartbreaking.

Never heard about this club, they are not one of the big ones there, but I read their story today and they were called the miracle team. They were going to play the final of the competition similar to Europa League. No words. I hope the survivors make it in one piece.

RIP.

They were promoted to the top flight for the first time in 2014. They were founded in 1973.

I would be shocked if you didn't see this from clubs around the world. I'm seeing tons of tweets from clubs from all over offering their condolences.

No, no I saw that, but will the FA allow a minute of silence? That is what I understood from Hazy above when he said City vs Chelsea?

Just a few weeks ago, ex-big player of Atletico died and the spanish La Liga refused to do that before the game with Madrid.
