speaking of whom - his latest Dynasty original cast video is exercising the critical faculties of the residents of the other place - someone called Evans played someone called Alexis and there was a Martinez in there apparently - two CBs!

Crazy rumour and even crazier money!

I hope Messi has missed his chance. £300m for a 30-year-old? Plus weekly salary. How many good years in the physical PL would he have left in him? Four, max? That would be £75m per year plus salary. We would be crazy to do it. He should have made the move when he was contemplating his Barca renewal contract (I assume the buy-out fee would have been less than £300m, any transfer fee certainly so) and before we signed all our exciting, younger players. £300m even now should get us a lot more exciting young talent.

Going along with the crazy of the situation, I think in one year we could cover the transfer fee just from smart marketing. Would be the biggest move in the history of this game, both financially and football wise.

But still, a deffo no for me.

I'd love us to sign Mbappé but part of me also hopes, secretly, that he goes to PSG for one of the monster sums being quoted. Having already signed Neymar, I want to know what they intend to do about the forthcoming wrath of FFP which surely must fall on their heads ??.

They've either got some creative accountants who are going run rings around UEFA's flagship system, they've got some sort of legal defence for restraint of trade or suchlike, or they just don't care and are up to something else completely (setting up a European Super League of some sort - or even the threat of it ??).

Heaven only knows what they are going to do but I'm intrigued to watch the outcome.

PSG have bulging pockets. I'm working on the theory that they have been assured a Blatter like blind eye will be turned to it. FFP is like a knife in the cupboard. You can get it out and wield it round or simply choose to leave it where it is.

Didn't Neymar buy out his own contract rather than PSG paying the buy out clause direct?

It's apparently how Spanish buyout clauses work - PSG gave the money to Neymar because it had to be him that bought his own contract out.

Mbappe will be a loan with obligation to buy next summer thus deferring that large sum to another period

The fee will be amortised anyway so this makes no sense.

With such a high fee, even the amortisation for the first year is substantial, i.e. 44m if it's a 5 year contract in Mbappé's case.

It's an oblate spheroid - bulging around the equator. (and I want to shoot myself for knowing that)

I thought the world only extended from New York to Los Angeles, as evidenced by the baseball (or rounders as we call it) "World Series".
